Good day, Hiveans! I’m one of the people who only set one schedule per day. I don’t want to have many engagements in one day since I don’t like to feel like I’m running out of time, but I like to feel like I own my time. Do you think the same? Anyway, I hope you have a great time while reading my blog and are in good shape.

Last Friday, my classmate in High School, my husband’s closest friend, invited us to attend a birthday celebration for his daughter last Saturday. Since we had no task on the said day, we accepted the invitation.
I sent a message to my friend to come with me and my husband to the celebration because she also knew the person since we are classmates in the same high school. The perks of being a Filipino are that one person is invited, and the one invited invites another friend too. I wanted my friend to accompany us. I knew I would be bored at the celebration because I could not relate to the conversation. The good thing was my friend also had no prior engagement on the said day.
Saturday came, it was a dinner birthday celebration. My husband and I, my friend, and her daughter attended the said event. As we arrived, the celebration had already started. We missed the opening of the event and attended only the eating session. As we arrived, the host prepared the table for our dinner. Since we were late for the said event, we just ate the food served on the table. There were plenty of food served. One of the best foods served was the lechon or the roasted pig. For most of the party, the roasted pig is always the highlight of the food served. It is one of the foods that Filipinos are proud of. Roasted pig is served because it could cater to more visitors, and not necessary to prepare more viand in the party. The food that was served was delicious. Because of this, we forgot to take pictures of the area for this blog. We enjoyed eating and talking at the event.
Beyond the celebration, it was an opportunity to share the happenings of our married life. After the dinner, we talked about topics concerning our married life. My friend who accompanied me shared how she extended her patience in her marriage. She shared that in marriage there must be water and a fire. When there is a misunderstanding, the water would off the fire. The father of the celebrant jokingly shared that so many documents that need to be renewed why is there no renewal of the marriage certificate? We were amazed by the strong couple who stayed together despite the differences of the individual. Same as my parents stayed together despite the challenges of their marriage. We have so many shared experiences that we forgot the time and went home late.
The celebration gave us a chance to check our lives since aside from that we wanted to celebrate, another purpose of our attendance was to update. It seems like only in a celebration we could have a small reunion.
