Have you ever had a desired place you wanted to visit and while you’re incapable of doing so, you set it aside and wait for the perfect moment?
In our neighboring town, Bogo City a Shrine named Our Lady of Miraculous Medal is located. When I was young, I heard about the shrine from my cousins. They told me how amazing the shrine is because the stairs are equivalent to when you do the Holy Rosary once you finished praying the Holy Rosary, you also reach the top of the stairs. As I told you in my previous post, the means of travel when visiting Bogo City before was exhausting physically and financially. However, I had the desire to go to the Shrine of Our Lady Miraculous Medal to experience how amazing it is to climb its stairs.
Well, it took 20 decades to have my first visit to the Shrine of Our Lady of Miraculous Medal. It was after I graduated from college and passed the board exam. At that time, I already had work. I could afford to travel to the Shrine. The problem was I don’t remember who my companion at that time was, whether my husband or our high school friend. The photos are saved on my social media where I’m with our high school friend. As I looked at the pictures, I remembered that it was the time when we got NBI certificates for our application for our desired job. After we got the certification, I convinced him to have a stopover of the Our Lady of Miraculous Medal since we had more time to spare. The justification of my husband's why we have no pictures of our first visit to the Shrine together was that we had no good phone cameras at that time. Well, it doesn’t matter.
All I remember, on my first visit was, I was so happy that I was able to visit the shrine and experience climbing the stairs. Aside from wanting to explore the shrine, I also visited the place to give thanks for the blessings I received from the previous years and ask for guidance for my next plan. When I visited the place, I felt so blessed and thankful that my wish was granted.
Remembering my first visit to the Shrine of Our Lady of Miraculous Medal made me realize how simple my life was, I wanted to go back to those ordinary days with fewer worries and no big responsibilities to carry but I knew it would be hard that's why, all I need to do is to keep moving and remember the person who experienced the first visit of the Shrine of Our Lady of Miraculous Medal.
I hope you feel the same way too. Keep moving. Stay alive and healthy.
Now, as much as possible, we visit the Shrine of Our Lady of Miraculous Medal once or many times a year depending on our availability, but we try not to miss visiting the place every year.
