Harvest, Motor, Scooter Teardown, Dentist, Coop, Finished Emptying Shed - Wednesday

It was only a cucumber morning yesterday in a slight surprise given how warm it is now, I would have expected a bit more growth but it seems the plants entered the late summer lull.

I ordered the 36 volt 1000 watt motor and the speed controller for it which will be here Friday and Saturday.

Then I tore into the old gas powered scooter to break it down to the base so I can build it back up again with the electric motor and batteries.

Nicely the old gel battery came out of the deck and leaves ample space for the speed controller. I may have to cut the motor mount bracket off but I will figure that out once the motor is here. The 1kw motor is going to give me a serious amount of torque and should let me easily climb most hills I come across on my way between launch and landing sites. It will be super slick to fold it up, toss it in the truck, and away I got.

I then went back to the shed and continued pulling everything out and setting it in the yard. This is how much extra dirt there is that will have to be removed.... I need to open the back wall to shovel through instead of having to wheelbarrow it all.

At noon I went and picked up J then down to pickup R so we could get them to town for their dentist appointments. Both boys needed work done but J's took only a few minutes compared to R's much longer. I sat in the front the whole time and kept each boy busy.

These microstep drivers are really garbage. Had ANOTHER ONE fry and had to replace it. Thankfully they are getting warrantied but still rather annoying.

The rest of my day was spent working in the shed. I got everything removed and then had to seriously work hard to pull the fence off. I had made it all as rabbit cages back 15 years ago but now need it all out.

I finally got the fence down then drug out and the wood levered out and tossed in the yard.

It was a dusty dirty hot place to work in and the temps are to be hotter the next days so I will be setting up my huge fan to help exhaust it while I work.

After a much needed shower went out to soak.

Today will be shoveling dirt out of the shed for a while until I am too sore to go on. Boys to school, move all the garbage lumber from the yard to the eventual pile that everything else will also get piled to from around the farm, maybe go flying today (not sure yet), harvests, I'll need to till the grain into the garlic garden soon, and get dinner in the crock pot early this morning for low and slow.

Cool idea to get around at launch sites!

You do a lot of work
Welldone!

Until my garden gets going again in my new home, I will live vicariously through you🩷

I've scaled down drastically this year but you're more than welcome.
