It was a light picking yesterday morning of just a couple squash and a bit of cucumber. It seems the cucumbers are over their peak production now but are still plugging along.

By the greenhouse door I have a massive web and I saw this spider siting there.

Then I looked at the hole and saw the female sitting there as they stared at each other. They and all the other spiders have been eating super well.

A little after 9am I was out in the shed continuing the work. I got the new stud bases all installed except for the door.

IMG_20240908_092442.jpg

I jacked up the wall a bit to install the 3 legs so when I let the jack down it would weight the legs.

R came out to see if I needed help and it was good timing as we needed to shovel dirt BACK into the shed. We began throwing the dirt through the window shovel full by shovel full.

IMG_20240908_100020.jpg

We ended up with a good pile inside and I had to have the fan on full blast pulling the dusty air out of the shed.

IMG_20240908_100039.jpg

Once the dust was gone I got in with the rake and spread the dirt all around to level it the best I could.

IMG_20240908_101656.jpg

The landscaping rake did the finishing touches.

IMG_20240908_102233.jpg

Then I grabbed the hose and wet the soil inside the shed really well. It did WONDERS for the dust level and all the dirt packed down nicely.

For the shelves I was able to scavenge all the boards I needed from various wood floating around.

IMG_20240908_104256.jpg

I had the shelves built after a while and was super happy to have them up. My leveling of the ground had been nuts on even so the shelves ended up as well.

I had to move the outlet box over so I had room to build the ski rack. They fit perfectly on the wall lengthwise and are up out of the way with the other snow gear.

PDC finals was on mid day and it was good to see Ricardo make it even though he lost to Chizzy.

Early afternoon I moved everything back into the gear shed. The kayaks now have berths to stand in on the end wall and makes SO MUCH more room available in the shed. I still have to finish the base of the walls and build another small shelving unit then will replace the 3 panels for the roof.

In a bit of a surprise the Seahawks managed a win for their first game over the Broncos.

Later in the afternoon I finally took time to start on the scooter. I plugged stuff together and found that the motor is really strong.

IMG_20240908_162841.jpg

So first thing the old motor mount had to get cut off with the angle grinder.

IMG_20240908_163735.jpg

Then the base got flushed up with a lot of grinding.

I need a longer chain for it but it will mount fine once I drill the holes. The hardest part of the whole build for me is trying to figure out where I will be mounting the batteries.

The cat likes the perch I have extended with the dirt I dumped over the edge. He was just sitting like a gargoyle scanning his kingdom. Ears twitching at all the various sounds in the creek below.

My body is all kinds of beat up and I have to keep trying to get the tension to release so my ear isn't feeling like a knife is in it.

Today I have to take it easy and try to get my body to feel better. Lots of foam rolling, tens zapping, ball rolling, massage, theracane abuse, and making myself slow down. I'll work on the scooter this morning, get boys to school, it looks like North40 has the chain in stock, I have to build or find the spot to put all the camp chairs, and hopefully actually get my body feeling better.
