Mi querida comunidad, en mi país ¡LLegó la Navidad! y por eso quiero compartir algunas apreciaciones y fotografías de cómo en mi institución engalanaron la época con sus mejores creaciones.
Hello! My dear community, in my country Christmas is here! and that's why I want to share some appreciations and photographs of how my institution decorated the season with their best creations.
Yo soy católica y nosotros tenemos muy claros el motivo de la Navidad y las diferentes celebraciones que hacemos; por darles un "tour rápido" iniciamos en diciembre con la corona de adviento, que siginifica la venida de nuestro señor. Después hacemos las misas de aguinaldo, seguidamente el nacimiento del niño, la natividad y la llegada de los reyes. Todo esto va a depender de la zona donde nos encontremos y las tradiciones particulares, pero eso es lo más simbólico.
¿Por qué lo celebramos desde el primero de octubre? Por mero decreto presidencial. Así que las instituciones (tanto públicas como privadas) deben acatar decorando y animando los espacios con motivos navideños.
I am Catholic and we are very clear about the reason for Christmas and the different celebrations we do; to give you a “quick tour” we start in December with the Advent wreath, which signifies the coming of our Lord. Then we do the aguinaldo masses, followed by the birth of the child, the nativity and the arrival of the kings. All this will depend on the area where we are and the particular traditions, but this is the most symbolic. Why do we celebrate it since October 1st? By mere presidential decree. So the institutions (both public and private) must comply by decorating and animating the spaces with Christmas motifs.
Los preparativos comenzaron días antes, buscando los nuevos diseños o "desempolvando" los del año pasado para darles un nuvo toque, pintar y poder colocarlos.
En mi institución se lleva a cabo un concurso de decoración de la puerta. Por ello, cada departamento intenta sacar sus mejores creaciones para poder ofrecer algún motivo bonito y por supuesto les permita ganar😊.
Preparations began days before, looking for new designs or “dusting off” last year's designs to give them a new touch, paint them and put them up. In my institution there is a door decoration contest. Therefore, each department tries to bring out their best creations to be able to offer some nice motif and of course allow them to win😊.
Yo me encargué o enfoqué en ayudar con el nacimiento que es la representación que la iglesia acepta, porque allí es donde rendimos honor al día de la natividad de nuestro señor Jesús.
En este sentido, siempre se hace en el patio central para que las personas que vayan llegando, lo vean y admiren, porque el trabajo que se hace es demasiado bonito.
Cuando digo ayudar no fue que yo pasé cinta adhesiva, hice flores o puse luces😆, un compañero se encargó de eso y nosotros estábamos haciendo compañía mientras compartíamos un momento como pocas veces lo hacemos, ya que todos siempre estamos en nuestras oficinas o responsabilidades académicas.
I was in charge or focused on helping with the nativity that is the representation that the church accepts, because that is where we honor the day of the nativity of our Lord Jesus. In this sense, it is always done in the central patio so that the people who arrive can see it and admire it, because the work that is done is too beautiful. When I say help it was not that I passed tape, made flowers or put lights😆, a colleague took care of that and we were keeping company while sharing a moment as we rarely do, since we are all always in our offices or academic responsibilities.
Tengo que admitir que este trabajo necesita de personas con carisma, creatividad y poder de resolución para hacer esas creaciones; yo creo que carezco de las tres o no las tengo desarrolladas🤣. Sin embargo, aprovechamos el momento como les dije para compartir, ayudar y todo se fue dando tan naturalmente, que los que no estuvimos ayudando en el propio nacimiento, lo hicimos cantando, bailando, grabando videos para mostrar lo que estaba ocurriendo a aquellos compañeros que no estaban en el patio.
I have to admit that this work needs people with charisma, creativity and power of resolution to make these creations; I think I lack all three or I do not have them developed🤣. However, we took advantage of the moment as I told you to share, to help and everything went so naturally, that those of us who were not helping in the birth itself, we did it by singing, dancing, recording videos to show what was happening to those colleagues who were not in the yard.
Al final salió mejor de lo que esperamos porque varios compañeros se acercaron con maracas, atuendos navideños, tambores, charrascas (como la de "Juana la cubana") y la mejor actitud para hacer de este momento más llevadero, olvidando un poco los problemas que presentamos en nuestro país.
In the end it turned out better than we expected because several colleagues came with maracas, Christmas attire, drums, charrascas (like the one from “Juana la cubana”) and the best attitude to make this moment more bearable, forgetting a little the problems we have in our country.
Para mí la navidad es una época de celebración, unión y paz. Entendiendo que en estos momentos se hace díficil pensar en esos sentimientos y acciones cuando nuestros familiares estan lejos o atravesando por situaciones personales muy fuertes, se me hace complicado sentir alegría al 100%.
Sin embargo, el compartir con mis compañeros un momento, animarnos unos a otros, ver el esfuerzo que hacen día a día por cumplir con su labor o funciones, me hace sentir admiración y por lo tanto, me gusta rodearme de ellos que así sea con una historia, un chiste, anécdota, o simplemente comentarios que me ayudan a crecer, hacen mi vida más llevadera y tranquila en las horas que estoy en la institución.
Espero que poco a poco vayamos contagiando ese ánimo a aquellas personas que estan desanimadas, tristes, sin esperanzas, para que entiendan que la Navidad es un momento de recordar el nacimiento de nuestro salvador, ese que se llevará todas nuestras penas y angustias si confiamos plenamente en su salvación y su promesa 🙏.
La navidad es solo un espacio de un mes, pero estos sentimientos que nos mueven son los que deben prevalecer por todo el año. Así que me quedo con eso y espero ir subiendo los niveles para poder pasar ¡Una feliz Navidad🎄🎀😇💫!
Final thoughts For me Christmas is a time of celebration, union and peace. Understanding that at this time it is difficult to think about these feelings and actions when our family members are far away or going through very strong personal situations, it is difficult for me to feel 100% joy. However, sharing a moment with my colleagues, encouraging each other, seeing the effort they make every day to fulfill their work or functions, makes me feel admiration and therefore, I like to surround myself with them, whether with a story, a joke, an anecdote, or simply comments that help me grow, make my life more bearable and calm in the hours I am in the institution.
I hope that little by little we will spread this encouragement to those people who are discouraged, sad, hopeless, so that they understand that Christmas is a time to remember the birth of our savior, the one who will take away all our sorrows and anguish if we fully trust in his salvation and his promise 🙏. Christmas is only a space of one month, but these feelings that move us are the ones that should prevail for the whole year. So I'll stick with that and hope to go up the levels so I can have a Merry Christmas🎄🎀😇💫!
