Hello my dear #Rocklovers I greet you hoping that everything is going well in your lives and we can share the good songs that this genre gives us and that has nothing to do with a physical appearance (as they have judged many times), but with the passion felt for music and its different ways of expressing art.
A few posts ago, I talked about some rock songs, which didn't exactly show a dark side of the artists or the machiavellian conditions as those artists were pigeonholed, all for the sake of generating controversy. Rather, they were songs with very handsome singers, charming videos, melodies as normal as those of any other genre and some were even catchy enough to invite us to learn more about them.
Of course, this is logical because MTV reached many young people (including me), we had radio stations that played these songs and advertising in magazines (since there was no internet as accessible as now) made us sing and chant these songs.
Since I made that post, I think Meta read my words and suggests me every now and then words, posts, pages and accounts that talk about this music; on one hand it's bad because Gentlemen don't mess with my privacy! 🤣 but I love to coincide with people who also like, long for and remember that era of 2000 as one of the best to listen to rock without the need to be dressed in black or do weird things to get attention. However, some bands have come out of this “weirdness” and have found an audience that accepted them in the genre we refer to today.
Hola mis queridos #Rocklovers les saludo esperando que todo marche muy bien en sus vidas y podamos compartir de las buenas canciones que este género nos regala y que no tiene que ver con una apariencia fisica (como han juzgado muchas veces), sino con la pasión que se siente por la música y sus diferentes formas de expresar el arte. Hace unas publicaciones atrás, hablé de algunas canciones de rock, que no precisamente mostraban un lado oscuro de los artistas o condiciones maquiávelicas como estaban encasillados esos artistas, todo por generar polémica. Más bien, eran canciones con cantantes muy guapos, videos encantadores, melodías tan normales como las de cualquier otro género y algunas hasta eran pegajosas que nos invitaba a conocer más sobre ellos.
Claro, esto es lógico porque MTV llegaba a muchos jóvenes (incluyendome), teníamos emisoras de radio que pasaban estas canciones y la publicidad en revistas (ya que no había internet tan accesible como ahora) nos hacía cantar y corear estas canciones. Desde que hice esa publicación, creo que Meta leyó mis palabras y me sugiere a cada rato palabras, publicaciones, páginas y cuentas que hablan de esta música; por una parte es malo porque ¡Señores no se metan con mi privacidad! 🤣 pero me encanta coincidir con personas que también les gusta, añoran y recuerdan esa época del 2000 como una de las mejores para escuchar rock sin necesidad de estar vestidos de negro o hacer cosas raras para llamar la atención. Sin embargo, algunas bandas han salido de estas "rarezas" y han encontrado un público que las aceptó en el género que hoy hacemos referencia.

What I remember is that that British band didn't have a face, they were just animated figures in a totally computerized rhythm but that hypnotized us with the mere fact of sounding even though the rhythm was slow and boring. To achieve this in young people who liked loud, fast sounds and this one just provoked peace, was very rare.
For many years its theme was that, a video game, comic book characters, that could not be enclosed in a specific genre but that united many people as for example soccer fans as their songs were part of the FIFA video games, dolls with dolls are understood!🤣. It's one of those weird songs that you don't understand, but that you don't stop listening to and that is part of that rock culture but accepting other fusions and presentations.

Así esta el caso de Gorillaz, que los del pop dirán: eso es rock, pero los del rock dirán para nada, es hip hop y así iran diciendo de una u otra ya que ¿Qué los hacía diferente? bueno ¡TODO! Lo que recuerdo es que de esa banda británica no había un rostro, eran solo figuras animadas en un ritmo totalmente computarizado pero que nos hipnotizaba con el solo hecho de sonar a pesar de que el ritmo era lento y aburrido. El lograr esto en los jóvenes que les gustaba los sonidos fuertes, rápidos y esta solo provocaba paz, era muy raro. Por muchos años su temática fue esa, un video juego, personajes de comics, que no podían ser encerrados en un género específico pero que unió a muchas personas como por ejemplo a los fanáticos del fútbol ya que sus canciones formaban parte de los videojuegos de FIFA ¡muñecos con muñecos se entienden!🤣. Es una de esas canciones raras que no entiendes, pero que no dejas de escuchar y que forma parte de esa cultura rockera pero aceptando otras fusiones y presentaciones. Un clip de esta banda:

On another occasion, I talked about the king of pop Michael Jackson as a reference also that his songs contain great rock influence and I was not wrong. I happened to remember this band Alient ant farm, which was famous for their version of Smoot Criminal. I even thought that song was theirs, until I saw Michael's original; I think that's what made me associate it with rock. Although I didn't follow the band much, I think this version belongs to them, as it sounds very very rock and I hope many will agree with me.
I loved it and I hope you enjoy this version, because the video has many elements that I liked such as the popular “pots” that were made when this kind of songs were played, the kids dancing, the little monkey, I loved it! in short, a lot of nostalgia, a lot of memories:
En otra ocasión, hablé del rey del pop Michael Jackson como referente también de que sus canciones contienen gran influencia del rock y no me equivoqué. Resulta que recordé esta banda Alient ant farm, que fué famosísima por hacer su versión de Smoot Criminal. Yo pensaba incluso que esa canción era de ellos, hasta que ví el original de Michael; creo que eso fue lo que me hizo asociarlo con el rock. Aunque no seguí mucho a la banda, creo que esta versión les pertenece, ya que suena muy pero muy bien en el rock y espero que muchos coincidan conmigo.
A mí me encantó y espero que disfruten esta versión, porque el video tiene muchos elementos que me gustaron como las populares "ollas" que se hacían cuando sonaban este tipo de canciones, los chicos bailando, el monito ¡Lo amé! en fin, mucha nostalgía, muchos recuerdos:

I would dare to say that it is the band's most famous song and it was born in 2000. I loved the message with the tattoo as it is a personal decision to get it but it should be for you, not because it involves someone else; in this case, the girl tattoos her boyfriend's name, she is cheated on and must cover up that mistake. I have nothing against tattoos, but I hope they think long and hard before a definitive mark like that. I leave you with the video, which has pure young people in it (as we all were 😊):
Y bueno, una de las rarezas más raras del rock era un artista hablando de amor o desamor porque siempre eran como peleados con el mundo, los incomprendidos. Sin embargo, esta canción, aún sin entender inglés creo que el video expresa muy bien cuando las cosas no salen bien, porque engañas a tu pareja y cuando tu ex consigue a alguien para iniciar una nueva vida, viene tu arrepentimiento. Quedaría bien en un bolero o un mariachi, pero en rock también existen este tipo de canciones y Wherever you will go, expresa mediante su letra una canción que puede ser escuchada por todos.
Me atrevería a decir que es la canción más famosa de la banda y nació en el 2000. Me encantó el mensaje con el tatuaje ya que es una decisión personal hacerselo pero debe ser por ti, no porque implique a otra persona; en este caso, la chica se tatua el nombre del novio, la engañan y debe tapar ese error. No tengo nada en contra de los tatuajes, pero espero que lo piensen mucho antes de una marca definitiva como esa. Les dejo el video, que tiene pura gente joven (como éramos todos 😊):
The best lesson that these publications leave me with is that we should not pigeonhole ourselves in a genre and that we can get the best out of each one in their lyrics, videos or ways of carrying out their career. We should not discredit or speak ill of all rock artists, just because one does it badly.
