Creating awareness takes many forms and I have been in this marketing game for long. Radio is still a popular mass media in my city. Lots of people still listen to it. So ahead of launching of our group shopping activity which will happen today, I went live on air for 10 minutes to talk about SpendHBD. It was an interesting presentation which drew listeners and calls from the city audience.
At the end of the day, I hope that the awareness created will go a long way in connecting more new users to the SpendHBD project. The overall goal is to get more new people to start shopping and spending HBD while getting rewarded. Click here to read about ShokiN
Real FM is still popular in Aba, Nigeria
I called in the Radio station much earlier yesterday to book a live presentation. Its a radio station I have been to several times in the past to talk about various projects and businesses. It was indeed nice to know that their rates remained the same over the years and I quickly paid for a 10-minute presentation time. The on-air personality hosting the show asked me to be in the studio between 4.15 and 4.30pm local time. I was in the Radio station by 4.03.
Just as scheduled, i was called into the studio around 4.26pm after they ran the commercials. My presentation started exactly at 4.30pm. Just a minute before then, I took a snap of the studio time seen below
It was a great presentation. I spoke about spendHBD as a social impact project built on the Hive blockchain. I explained what it is and how shoppers could become part of it and gain. Of course, I answered many other questions like whether it costs money to join and where to get HBD to spend. After 10 minutes, the presentation ended. Once out of the studio, I answered calls from listeners. Some promised to attend our event today and others promised to come on Monday.
It was a great idea to go on air and maybe I should be doing that more often across other Radio stations in the city to create more awareness. I was supposed to go with @bummblebee but something came up and he was not able to make it. But it all went well and I took some snaps in the studio and around the premises which i want to share with you below.
Building enthusiasm for ShoKiN and spendHBD
We are launching shokiN today, a group shopping activity which I plan to repeat every weekend. The idea is yo create continuity and so that buyers will continue to visit the listed shops at least as a group. The even will start in about 6 hours from now (11 am local time).
First of all, there will be a workshop for all new friends that will attend. i hope to have at least 10 new friends that will be there. It could be more. So the workshop will educate them on how spendHBD works and they will be signed up. I really hope that distriator will remain stable today and we also hope to have strong signal to complete transactions.
For the older users that will come for launching of ShokiN, I will also do a brief presentation afterwards for them. The talk will encourage them to shop more to earn more. More important, I wish to use the time too to explain some of the new updates that they need to know. That includes the 20-minute shopping delay between two transactions. I will also explain how to reattempt claim assuming their HBD discount did not come after publishing their shopping experience. There will also be a question-and-answer part.
I hope to run everything within 1 hour and 30 minutes so that we could all go out to any of the shops to launch ShoKiN and do our group shopping. Am really hoping for a successful event.
