An aquarium is a transparent tank made of glass in which live fishes, other water creatures like turtle, and plants are kept. An aquarium beautifies your home and can be a focal point in any room.
There are different types of aquarium fishes but the ones I'm familiar with are :
Gold fish
Guppy
Gourami
Shark
Pleco
Aquarium fishes are beautiful and fun to watch. I love Aquariums because they calm nerves and relieves stress. Keeping an aquarium in my home makes me happy and gives me this sense of responsibility. When I see my fishes raising its head and gasping for breath, I know there's a need to change the water because the oxygen level in the water has depleted.
I remembered the day I came back from work and I found my goldfish gasping for oxygen, I quickly removed it from the tank and placed it in a fishbowl. There was no light, so I had to generate oxygen manually by using a clean cup of water to scoop water from the bowl and I held the cup some distance above the fishbowl then I poured the water back into the bowl. I did this repeatedly until my fish started swimming actively. That day I was happy I saved its life.
#### Fun facts about Aquarium Fishes
Gouramis are aggressive towards each other especially if they are of the same sex. They are territorial. I remembered putting a Gourami and Gold fish in the same tank for the first time, the Guorami was always chasing the Gold fish.
Pleco fish stays at the side, or at the bottom of the tank most times. Pleco also cleans the tank by getting rid of algea.
As
Goldfish is the most popular of all. Most kids love goldfish because of its bright colour.
Koi fishes are playful especially the females. And it looks like catfish😅
I just remembered a funny incident that happened to one of my client. My colleague and I went to his place to install an aquarium the man insisted on knowing our houses before making any payment. He said he is a busy person and won't be around while we are installing the aquarium and that he doesn't want to be fooled again. Then I asked him what happened Guess what?? Someone gave him catfish instead of koi fish.😅😅😅😅
