I would like to talk about a chapter of Horizon Zero Dawn which is called The War-Chief's Trail.

You may watch the video above to see the gameplay yourself and I bet you won't regret watching the gameplay.

The War-Chief's Trail
Main Quest: Sona, the war-chief of the Nora, went missing after an ambush killed dozens of braves. Varl wants (wanted actually) Aloy to find her.

After the Proving where a dozens of braves were killed along with Rost, Aloy was survived with the help of High Matriarch Teersa and then she was announced a seeker. Then I had to complete a mission called The Womb of the Mountain before I left the tribe in searching for the truth. And then unlocked two missions at once 1. A Seeker at the Gate, 2. The War-Chief's Trail. I didn't understand which one I should chose and then I chose A Seeker at the Gate which did lead me to Meridian leaving The War-Chief's Trail behind.

Now after completing 5 missions, I got this (The War-Chief's Trail) mission as a main quest so I left Meridian and went to the massacre site which was a long way from Meridian and I recorded the journey in another video and I'll show that journey in another post someday.

After reaching the massacre site, I needed to investigate the battlefield for a lead on Sona's whereabouts. I could see blood on the ground and on the rocks there although it's been a long time since I left to Meridian, the plot stayed as it is for my investigation, lol.

Screenshot (2).png

The massacre site was really massacred with arrows, blood-strains, dead machines.

Screenshot (3).png

There was a destroyed corruptor machine that I needed to examine and it looked like the killers used this corruptor to send the machines against their targets.

Screenshot (4).png

Screenshot (5).png

Suddenly there came a survivor named Dran and I went to him to know what he knows. Dran said that ware-chief Sona sent him back to report.

Sona was following the killers but corrupted machines were sent to attack them continuously so they couldn't keep up and we go to know where Sona could be and that's near the metal tower southeast of the ruins at Devil's Thirst.

Screenshot (6).png

Then I started riding towards Devil's Thrust where I could find Sona as it was her last known location and man, look at the screenshot above. Isn't it beautiful? I liked this scene a lot and I used this one for the thumbnail, I'm really happy to have this photo mode feature in the game.

Screenshot (7).png

And look what I've found, another TallNeck (sorry, Cyber Giraffe @incublus😉 I hope your loneliness reduces after seeing this Cyber Giraffe).

The other Cyber Giraffe that I've found was in the water and I couldn't get any way from where I could climb that one, but I think I can find a high ground to climb this one and I'm gonna try it soon after I finish writing this post.

Screenshot (9).png

Well, I reached the location and I needed to investigate the area. I needed to examine the arrowheads, bow, bandages, campfire.

After the investigation, I've found tracks and I highlighted them.

Screenshot (10).png

Then now I started following the tracks and look at that wolf jump.

Screenshot (11).png

On the way, I've found two corrupted watchers that I could just ignore and pass but I like to destroy these creatures so I went there and killed them with passion.

Screenshot (12).png

Screenshot (13).png

After I ran furthermore following the tracks, I've found a dead Sawtooth and maybe Sona took it out and she could be close.
Then I went to examine the Sawtooth.

And a danger moment came over.

Screenshot (14).png

Screenshot (15).png

Screenshot (16).png

There came a deadly Sawtooth from behind Aloy and was behaving like a tiger that was about to hunt its prey.

Screenshot (17).png

Screenshot (18).png

I thought I'd take control and would need to destroy this one but no, all these happened in cinematic and when the Sawtooth was running towards Aloy, she was about to hit the beast with arrow but I don't think that'd kill the beast.

Screenshot (19).png

And someone else shot the beast with a electrified arrow and the beast went down with this one arrow.

Screenshot (21).png

Screenshot (22).png

That's Sona with two of his men. Sona asked Aloy to lend her strength and to follow her.

Screenshot (23).png

Then I started following Sona when she was about to take me to a place where there should be some bad peoples who were a part of the massacre happened here.

Screenshot (24).png

Screenshot (25).png

Sona took Aloy to a camp full of cultists and corrupted machines.

Screenshot (26).png

Screenshot (27).png

Now I needed to prove myself by killing the cultists and corrupted machines while Sona and her men will wait for my signal to attack.

Screenshot (28).png

Screenshot (29).png

We could finish them when fast by letting them know we were there but I wished to do it in my way and my way is, I like to kill them one by one undetected.

I had to try for couple of times to accomplish what I wanted to and at last all the cultists and corrupted machines were dead.

Screenshot (30).png

Then Sona was saying that this wasn't all the killers as she counted more at the war party massacre.

Screenshot (31).png

Screenshot (32).png

Then after investigating the war site, I've found a focus file from where I could listen to a datapoint and I got a hint about the location of the rest of the killers. The rest of the killers were camped inside a "Ring of Metal" and Sona talked about it and gave us the location.

Screenshot (33).png

And the quest was completed at that point.

The next chapter will be coming soon.
Screenshots are my take from the game and there's a logo that I used on the thumbnail picture.

SEE YOU.

Thanks a lot.

This game has caught my attention, I hope one day, you have a great gameplay by the way hahaha, although I don't understand much about the game, and I prefer it that way! It's best when you're playing something full of mysticism and zero expectations.

You don't understand it because you are not familiar with the actual story. If you're interested then I suggest you play this game or watch others gameplay or you read my previous posts about this game as well and I bet you'll understand more and you will love the game for sure.
Thanks for stopping by.

The screenshots are amazing. The devs of these games has some a fantastic job adding that photo mode feature.
I'm playing Days Gone where I've recently found the photo mode and I'm also enjoying taking photos.

Yours is a cool game that I wish to try someday.

Thanks for your compliment. I'm getting the photo mode handy and I've seen your post about Days Gone, that's a good game as well.
You should try this game for sure.

Thanks for your recommendation and its nice to know that you read my post.

Always a pleasure.
