I can't miss Farmers market, I always have same level of excitement on this. The food is fresh and organic. If I would choose between supermarkets and local markets, I would rather support small businesses, our local markets. Prices are great and fun to get socialize with people who are also making their purchases and the farmers. I usually like talking with the farmers because they are skilled and have learned anough about the crucial information how to grow certain types of plants, and I myself, love planting too. It is good to learn from the experienced.

Let's check the quality and quantity! Like I told you, you don't have to ask the vendors concerning the prices. It's already posted on top of every pile of the goods. Despite the inflation, they're able to keep the price low.Yes! Carrots for 70 pesos /kilo. In dollor- 1 $ is equivalent to 50 pesos. Isn't so affordable? How much per kilo of carrots on your end?

Fresh harvests and in season produce is at peak flavor and nutrition. Not only is buying locally an economic win for your community, but you benefit by eating fresher, healthier food. It's Win, win!

Redbeets at times can get expensive depending on the market supplies, especially when it is coming outside the island then price can be doubled but still cheaper than supermarkets. One of my favorite for detox and juicing .

Whenever my daughter goes with me in the market,I let her picked which gets her excited and paid so she also get used to it and learned the value of money, the value of getting fresh food and that it's healthy over fast-food which I call it junkfood.. By the way, one of her favorite veggies is bell pepper, she like it best when it's boiled half cooked and dip it in spicy sauce and sprinkled with a little bit of salt to taste.

We have another kind of spinach, notice the one with price on top. it has purple stems. The label says" dahonan" which means all that leafy veggies in a row is 10 pesos each. Super cheap in negros! Upto now I can't beleive about the prices. unbeleivable!

Are you pineapple lovers? It has many benefits and is good for breakfast if you are into slimming.
Abundant supplies of pineapple! Half a dollar. And 10 pesos is just another mindblowing! You can give extra tip if you are kind enough.

This is the kind of banana that Philippines has been exporting due to its thick peel. Good variety of banana and could last longer if you just place in the the fridge.

132_3725.JPG

I keep coming back in this stall herbs fro cherry tomaties, lettuce, and kale. The basil is also cheap for just 20 pesos. I dont need to for I have planted some in the pots. There are herbs you can easily grow at home if you are into saving your money. Grass onin, basil, rosemary, mint to mention a few.

132_3731.JPG

I always go home with pineapples the unpeeled, but sometimes I already feel tired to prepare it when I get home, so I grabbed one or two to make sure. It's fresh too from same vendors that sells whole pineapple.

132_3735.JPG

Passion fruit ! this is seasonal fruit so I usually take advantge of what's in season. I have read somewhere, that we should be eating what's the season has provided because nature knows our body needs of "that" So grab whatever is in season.

132_3729.JPG

Ponkan variety. Another seasonal fruit. I just buy a lot of it whenever there's availability. Would be needing for fruit-infused water. Not enough supply this year, price could get cheaper like half when it is in abundance.

132_3746.JPG

String beans.. really catchy when they hang it like that. You can eat it raw too, or in any dish you like.

132_3739.JPG

Broccoli is a bit cheaper this month whenever, like every stall is having it on display.Just need hot water and blanch , you'll get gooddie salad!

132_3740.JPG

Cabbage - marked down price .

132_3743.JPG

This month has a lot of surprises. Prices has gone down mostly. I'm getting 35 pesos/ kilo of ginger. Fun! Fun in farmers market.

132_3749.JPG

Talong is Eggplant in English.

132_3721.JPG

Broomsticks- You will be greeted with broomsticks in the entrance, incase you are a good girl, who likes sweeping your yard and cleaning the floor. This is what we use in philippines in substitute of "rake"
Broomstick is more cleaper while buying a rake would cost you a little fortune especially if you buy it in Home Depot. So girls! Let's broom the floor!🤣 Just kidding!Smile, it suits you.

And of course this thing called " The tree of life'. Buko also called young coconuts. Aseans' number one feshreshment drinks! In farmers market it cost you 25 pesos ONLY! Try going to the super markets or any restaurant, even restaurant situated in the mountain would ask you to pay more than doubled price.

You'll get almost everything in this market. It's so difficult for me to say no to herbs, weakness!

132_3736.JPG

I did not hesitate to buy this, looks so fun and appealing. For a price of 130 pesos, I could give away some to my neighbors, I know I can't consume it all.

132_3754.JPG

Taaadaaaa! There it is!That's quite a lot right? Ready to be given away.
And If ever I miss anything, That market is just 5 minutes away.

Let us support our local famers! We need them and they need us!

Sort:

Ateeeyy napa diay mas presko pa ana gurl? 🤣🤣🤣

Gulat ako sa lettuce. 300/kilo? Pero un the rest ang mura sarap mamalengke tas ang fresh pa. Pinya 10/kilo or per piece?
