Cambugahay Falls is arguably the best waterfall in Siquijor Island which is surrounded by luscious greenery of natural beauty and is most famous for its tiered levels, strikingly blue water.
Cambugahay Falls
I am continually inspired by dramatic waterfalls. So if you are posting relating to this , you bet,I would reblog it without a second thought. Recently, I stumbled across a post of @dodovietnam about waterfalls ( thanks @dodovietnam, you inspired me) , that was beautiful and was liken unto a sleeping fairy. That made me realized why am I not sharing about beautiful cascades? So, here it is to start with, though this is outside the island where I live. More to be posted.
I've seen many posts about this island and that it has lots of must-see captivating places, so we decided to tour around the island that lasted for a week. We arrived in the island by barge and was slower than turtle but that was by choice because we needed to have car with us to make the trip more convenient and Cambugahay falls was our #1 in the lists.
The were few people when we arrived in the place. The first level of the falls is an adventurer’s playground! features a large natural swimming hole, man-made structures including bamboo rafts, rope swings, and a wide set of falls.
We also discovered a cave along the cliff.
We followed the jungle trail upstream and found more freshwater swimming holes, flowing rock pools, and several cliff jumping spots. Oh, oh. I love pushing to the limits.
There were lots of sheltered huts available to rent around the perimeter if you wish to set your belongings down away from the water’s edge. And a friendly reminder: Please make the effort to take all your trash with you. Don't leave it on the paths or throw it in the water. It's a small gesture but sure would make a big difference.Let's leaves it beautiful and clean for the next people to visit.
There are more than a hundred steps leading down to the falls. If you are a first timer or not into hiking, going down these steps may put a strain on your knees. It's good cardio exercise though.
The Entrance
There is a small tour desk at the entrance table and personnel collecting the entrance fee. The entrance fee is 20 pesos and you might also give extra tip for the parking lot if you are kind enough. To use the rope swings and rubber tubes down at the falls, the cost is an additional 50 pesos.
Time to look for place to stay after many hours of having enjoyed unlimited rope swing.
Siquijor has hundreds of accommodation options. Which suit your budget? budget backpackers, luxury travelers, and everyone in between.
We chose to stay in Mandala Tribe Treehouses one of the most luxurious available on the remote island. that night which I'll be featuring in the next post as a continuation of this 1 week trip around the island. After settling all the stuff ,grilled some food in a container we brought with us, we know we have to consume for it has short life.Whew! Everything was an amazing experienced that day.
Thank you for checking my blog.
