Hello everyone...
Nice seeing you all again.
Hope this writing finds you in a great condition as I am.
It's been a year after my last visit in town of Roxas, Oriental Mindoro...a place where I was born. When I last visited there, several portions of the roads leading there were still under the process of being widened.
Mind you, that isn't my topic. I just can't help but feel estranged or alienated from the place seeing that a lot has changed since then. The new roads and establishments that rose from both sides seems new to me. One thing that's way too noticeable is the emergence of gasoline stations from our barangay as well as the adjacent ones. They're like mushrooms that suddenly emerges everywhere. There is now one or two in almost every barangay in our town...talk about drastic developmental growth.
Ooppss..back to the reason why I'm sitting here in front of the laptop and striking these keyboards...
I went to Mindoro to visit my parents. It's been a regular routine everytime I go on a vacation after month of working onboard ship.
I would like you to meet my parents...they're taking a nap or rest after several hours of working.
In the image is me and my father searching for some edible tips (talbos) of wild bitter gourd as recipe for our viand in a typical Filipino meal...rice and mung beans (munggo)
Would also like to show you some portions of the land while I'm at it.
This excavated area here is just adjacent the pool. It will be used as fishing pond later.
Here are some produce harvested earlier for our consumption while resting..
While I'm there, I also tried to reconnect with old friends from my high school days. Luckily I got in touch with a few of them. We set to meet in the land I acquired years before since it's cool there and had a nice breeze since it's surrounded by tress. We're in the middle of the forest to be exact.
It's around lunch time when my friends came to our meeting place since it's the time we set to meet. When they arrived, they rested a little, and we ate our lunch...
After some story-telling and catching-ups, I brought the cold beer and then do some more catching-ups...We relocated right at the side of the pool. Nice...isn't it. A pool in the middle of the forest 😁😁😁
It's been more than 10years since we last met so there's surely a lot of catching-up to do. It would have been a lot of fun if more of my friends were able to come but they couldn't. We scheduled our meeting from the get-go so a lot couldn't make it. Well we don't have much choice since I will be staying in Mindoro for about 3days only. So, we drank and drank, told stories of how our life had been these past years...It is quite a nice feeling to see some old friends every once in a while and talk about almost anything we can think of...from the plans we have and to the gossips we heard everywhere😂😂😂
The vacation is short but worthwhile...
That will be all for this visit here in my home province...
Be seeing you all again....
