2 Years on Hive - A Fond Look Back

Hey guys,
I'm a bit late again with an article I've been planning for over a week, but I couldn't just set this milestone aside and neglect it forever.
About two weeks ago, @hivebuzz brought to my attention, that I earned my 2-years-on-Hive badge.
Two years on Hive is already a good amount of time spent in one place, and I'm proud of it, even though I've had to take longer breaks from time to time.

Hey Leute,

ich bin wieder etwas spät dran mit einem Artikel, den ich seit über einer Woche plane, aber diesen hier konnte ich nicht einfach beiseiteschieben, denn es ist ein kleiner Meilenstein, den ich feiern kann.

@hivebuzz machte mich bei einem meiner letzten Artikel vor gut zwei Wochen mit einem Kommentar darauf aufmerksam, dass ich mein 2-Jahres Badge verdient hätte.

Zwei Jahre auf Hive ist schon eine kleine Ewigkeit, auf die ich stolz bin, auch wenn ich immer mal wieder längere Auszeiten nehmen musste.

Author-Accounts

I have two active author accounts: Freedomprepper and Halbtagsdichter, which I for different purposes.
With Halbtagsdichter, I mainly write in the #Freewriters Community, working on the 5 Minute Freewrite Prompts and the Monday ZapFic Flash Fiction prompts. Additionally, I upload my Actifit Reports here.
As a result, this supposed Alt account has published more posts (94), compared to Freedomprepper, which has only written 85 blog posts.
179 articles overall are not a bad output (this one makes it 180 articles), but without my hiatuses, this could have been much better.
For some time now, I have been more active as an author and not just as a gamer and as a small investor.

Ich habe mit Freedomprepper und Halbtagsdichter zwei aktive Autoren-Accounts, die ich unterschiedlich nutze.

Mit Halbtagsdichter schreibe ich vor allem in der #Freewriters Community und schreibe dort an den 5 Minute Freewrite Prompts sowie den Montaglichen ZapFic Flash Fiction prompts mit. Außerdem lade ich meine Actifit Reports hier hoch.

Deswegen hat dieser eigentliche Zweit-Account mit 94 Posts auch mehr veröffentlicht als Freedomprepper, der erst 85 Blogposts geschrieben hat.

Insgesamt sind 179 Artikel keine schlechte Ausbeute (mit diesem sind es dann 180 Artikel), aber durch die langen Auszeiten auch nicht zufriedenstellend.

Seit einiger Zeit bin ich nun wieder aktiver als Autor und nicht mehr nur als Spieler und Klein-Investor.

Where do I belong?

Ever since my arrival on Hive, I've never been able to decide where I really belong within the communities, and even today, I still wander around, jumping from one community to another. I'm sure there are others who, despite spending a long time on Hive, haven't found their place yet.
My interests are actually quite clear, but weirdly these are the areas in which I've published the least.
The #HiveGaming Community and Movies&TV Shows are my natural homes, as I'm a gamer at heart, and at least until the last 5 years or so when both movies and TV shows have been getting worse and worse with political messaging and ideology, I was a media junkie. Reviews would, therefore, be my forte.
For some reason, the writer's block I experienced for a long time seems to be slowly resolving, and my productivity is increasing bit by bit. I've rediscovered the joy of writing, both on Hive and off.
I even am a bit fearful that I might swing from one extreme to the other and write too much.
I've heard rumors that there are blacklists for people who write too much. However, that might be referring to those who spam articles that consist of just one sentence and/or a photo. I'm not sure.
In any case, I'm doing my best not to become repetitive and not to spam articles with trivialities, even though I'm writing more frequently.

Seit Beginn auf Hive konnte ich mich nie recht entscheiden, in welcher Community ich eigentlich am besten aufgehoben bin und mäandere auch bis heute noch eher umher und springe mal in diese, mal in jene Community. Wie mir wird es wahrscheinlich einigen gehen, die trotz einer längeren Zeit auf Hive noch nicht angekommen sind.

Meine Interessen sind eigentlich ziemlich klar abgesteckt, doch habe ich gerade in diesem Bereich am wenigsten veröffentlicht.

Die #HiveGaming Community sowie Movies&TV Shows sind meine natürlichen Heimaten, da ich im Herzen Gamer bin und zumindest bis auf die letzten 5 Jahre, in denen sowohl Filme als auch Serien immer schlechter wurden, ein Medien-Junkie war. Reviews wären somit mein Steckenpferd.

Aus welchem Grund auch immer, die Ladehemmung, die ich lange verspürte, scheint sich langsam zu lösen und meine Produktivität erhöht sich so langsam. Ich habe wieder richtig Spaß am Schreiben gefunden, auf Hive und auch außerhalb.

Ich habe sogar ein wenig Angst, dass ich nun von einem Extrem ins andere gehe und zuviel schreibe. Ich habe Gerüchte gehört, dass es Blacklists für Leute gibt, die zu viel schreiben. Vielleicht sind damit aber nur diejenigen gemeint, die Artikel spammen, die einen Satz und/oder ein Foto beinhalten. Das weiß ich nicht.
Ich gebe jedenfalls mein Bestes trotz häufigerer Artikel nicht repititiv zu werden und Belanglosigkeiten zu spammen.

Investments

Splinterlands

My investments are mainly in the gaming sector, primarily in #Splinterlands, especially in cards and #SPS. I continue to increase my holdings in these assets, even though I'm currently not actively playing.

Meine Investments liegen hauptsächlich im Gaming-Bereich, hauptsächlich in #Splinterlands, vor allem in Karten und #SPS, die ich auch weiterhin aufstocke, selbst wenn ich momentan nicht mehr aktiv spiele.

Rising Star

I have been playing the second Old-School game, #RisingStar, daily for nearly two years now, and during this time, I've reached the 8th highest rank in the game. I have around 7.4 million fans which puts me in the 5th or 6th place in this category. This is significant for me because with each additional fan, the Starbits Rewards increase, and they could potentially be more valuable in the bull market compared to today. Furthermore, I may be able to exchange them for Hive if I choose to.

Das zweite Old-School Spiel #RisingStar spiele ich nun täglich seit fast zwei Jahren und bin in dieser Zeit auf dem 8. Platz gelandet und mit ca. 7,4 Millionen Fans in dieser Kategorie auf dem 5. oder 6. Platz. Das ist für mich wichtig, weil mit jedem Fan mehr auch die Starbits Rewards größer werden, die potenziell im Bullenmarkt etwas mehr wert sein werden als heute und ggf. in Hive getauscht werden können.

Wrestling Organization Online (WOO)

In the third quarter of 2023 (most likely at the end of September), another heavyweight in the #Hive Gaming ecosystem, will make its debut. #WOO, abbreviated from Wrestling Organization Online. In the initial pack sale rounds, I dug deep into my empty pockets, in hopes of the Splinterlands effect for the upcoming bull market.
I firmly believe that the team behind #WOO, led by Booker-Man and the @wrestorgonline account, will present a solid, exciting, and addictive game centered around the wrestling sport. I anticipate that it will attract a significant number of new players and users to Hive and will be a sweeping succsess.

Mit #WOO wird im dritten Quartal (höchstwahrscheinlich Ende September) 2023 ein weiteres Schwergewicht im #Hive Gaming Ökosystem seinen Einstand feiern und in den ersten Pack-Verkauf-Runden habe ich noch einmal tief in meine leeren Taschen gegriffen, um den Splinterlands-Effekt für den kommenden Bullenmarkt auszunutzen.

Ich bin fest davon überzeugt dass das Team um Booker-Man und den Account @wrestorgonline ein grundsolides, spannendes und süchtig machendes Spiel um den Wrestling-Sport präsentieren wird und eine Menge neuer Spieler, sowie User für Hive gewinnen wird.

Like most of us, I'm speculating on a higher Hive price during the bull market, but not to cash out. Instead, I hope that the activity rate on our blockchain will increase once again.
I'm gonna be honest. It can be somewhat challenging to engage in conversations here. The numerous automated votes and voting trails, voting circles, and the main discussion hubs in various Discord channels are not beneficial for the Hive community. At least, that's my impression.
With a higher Hive price, many veterans may return, and perhaps they will bring some new users who will bring in fresh perspectives and more willingness to engage in discussions.
Currently, we are still a niche site, but that's something we all want to change. I am, in any case, curious and doing my best to contribute within my means, so we are well-positioned when the next bull market hits and the next group of Hive users join.
I firmly believe in our social media platform, but I also think that there are several areas where we could improve.
My personal goal (although not until my next annual article) is to reach one million Hive Power, as it serves no purpose to constantly complain from a position of weakness. Later on, as a larger account, I'll try to reach as many other accounts as possible and thus increase the retention rate, especially for new but also established smaller accounts, which will be crucial for Hive in the long run. However, for that, I will have to put in more effort and a bit of luck. That is what I pledge here today. To myself and to you. I try to be a bit more accountable and writing/broadcasting it is the first step to have more pressure on yourself.
I look forward to the next part of my journey on Hive and to having the occasional conversation along the way (in the comments or someplace else) with you.

Wie die meisten von uns spekuliere auch ich auf einen höheren Hive-Preis im Bullenmarkt, aber nicht um auszucashen, sondern weil ich hoffe, dass die Aktivitäts-Rate sich auf unserer Blockchain wieder etwas erhöht. Es ist manchmal etwas mühsam hier ins Gespräch zu kommen. Die vielen automatisierten Votes, die Vote-Zirkel und die Hauptgesprächsrunden in diversen Discord-Channeln tun der Gemeinschaft auf Hive nicht gut. Das ist zumindest mein Eindruck.

Mit einem höheren Hive-Preis werden wohl viele alte Hasen zurückkehren und vielleicht bringen sie ein paar neue mit, die für frischen Wind sorgen und mehr Gesprächsbereitschaft zeigen.

Noch sind wir eine Nischenseite, doch das wollen wir ja alle ändern.
Ich bin jedenfalls gespannt und versuche im Rahmen meiner Möglichkeiten dazu beizutragen, dass wir gut dastehen, wenn der nächste Bullenmarkt sich ankündigt, bzw. die nächste Gruppe von Hive-Usern hineinspült.

Ich glaube jedenfalls fest an unsere kleine Social-Media Seite, doch glaube ich auch, dass wir einiges besser machen könnten.

Mein persönliches Ziel (allerdings nicht bis zum nächsten Jahres-Artikel ^^) sind eine Million Hive Power, denn es bringt ja nichts, aus einer Position der Schwäche permanent zu meckern. Ich möchte später als hoffentlich großer Account versuchen, so viele Accounts wie möglich zu erreichen und damit die Retention-Rate von gerade neuen, aber auch schon etablierteren kleinen Accounts zu erhöhen, was auf lange Sicht wohl crucial sein wird für Hive. Doch dafür werde ich noch einiges tun müssen und ein bisschen Glück.
