Today I paid a visit to a nearby garden center. It's quite a big garden center that offers a wide selection of plants, gardening tools, and home decorations.
The garden center even has a café where visitors can enjoy a coffee with a snack while shopping.
I went to the garden center just for a couple of new pots for my indoor plants, but when you walk the route through the shop (which is just like the routes you have at Ikea) you see so many things. Here is an impression of my tour through the shop!
this is the entrance. You immediately are welcomed by all sorts of vases and plants.
The store has a surface area of 2000 m2. They not only have plants, but also have things to decorate your house. Near the entrance they had these funny looking deer and fox vases. Not exactly my taste, but I did think they were funny.
Apart from the 2000 m2 indoor they also have a large selection of outdoor plants, bushes and even trees. Since it's fall the collection is a bit smaller than in spring or summer. In summer you see all kinds of flowering plants and blossoms.
Halloween isn't celebrated isn't very big over here they do have some Halloween decorations among which a large collection of pumpkins. But they also have some skelletons spiders and other scary things on the shelves.
This is one of my favorite departments; the garden tools. You can literally buy anything you need for maintaining your garden. I always like to buy all tools since they all seem very useful.
Just like Ikea they have decorated 'living rooms' with their decorations and home items. This gives the visitors an idea how they can make their own living room cozier.
In contrast to Halloween, Christmas is celebrated in a big way in the Netherlands. This garden center has a real Christmas show and several Christmas activities in the coming weeks. I even noticed that Frozens Anna en Elsa will visit the garden center soon.
They already have loads of Christmas related decorations like lights, candles and decorations for the tree.
After a long round through the shop I arrived at the aisles I came for; the house plants. When I walk around I'd like to buy more and more plants. Just look at these nice and big house plants.
House plants everywhere you look! Hanging plants, green plants, carnivorous plants, flowering plants, you name it.
They also have such a large collection of cactusses and also succulents. These prickly cacti are so cute!
I finally found the pot I was looking for. I've also bought a couple of smaller pots to transfer my smaller plants to because they have grown to big for their current pot.
And I just couldn't resist buying this beautiful dieffenbachia. I really like the pattern on the leaves. I had the excuse to buy it for my daughter who just finished a week of school exams; she likes plants as much as I do!
I do plan to divide the plant when it has grown bigger, so I'll have another one.
It's a trick I pull more often. I recently did this with my Peace lily (check the Snap I made of that: https://peakd.com/@friendlymoose/re-peaksnaps-slwtqu)
