You can certainly tell it's autumn here in western Europe. The leaves have started falling off the trees and it's raining more often.
Earlier this week I was working from home and I always try to go out for a walk during my break, but that that it was drizzling. But I had been 'locked up' in my home office all morning, so I decided to resist the drizzle and go for a walk anyway.
There are leaves all over the streets. I spotted this huge leaf on the pavement which had many different colours, so I picked it up to photograph it.
When I entered the park I noticed a lot more leaves had fallen down. They complete path was covered in a deck of leaves. This was nice because else I had to walk on a muddy path.
Although there were still a lot of green leaves you can already see the sky, something you won't see here in summer. When you look closely you see a lot of leaves have turned yellow. It will only take a bit of wind to get them off the trees.
When it is getting more humid, the fungi start showing up. It's so funny how these fungi often clutter together like these ones on a falen tree trunk. I always wonder how they manage to grow on trees like that. Where do they leave their roots?
This fungi looked more like a sponge or coral you would spot in the sea. Quite an interesting shape. It's identified as hen-of-the-woods by my Obsidentify app.
Here are some other fungi on a tree trunk.
As you can see it wasn't raining very hard, so I didn't get really wet. I was glad I went out for a walk.
Just look how many fungi there are around this tree. They alwast seem to grow in groups together. And always on or around trees too. If someone knows why, please tell me.
In the back of the park there is a small bridge over a ditch. It's a nice view of the trees growing over the ditch. In summer I've seen a kingfisher a couple of times, but I haven't seen them recently. They are such beautiful, colorful birds.
A bit further on in the park the water was covered with leaves. You can hardly see where the water begins 😀
I hope you liked this #wednesdaywalk in the park!
