(Genus Oxyopes) Is a species of small spider that has spiny legs. This spider is a predator that eats a variety of insect prey, including several economically important insect pests. This spider is easily recognized by the way it hunts like a cat in ambush or slowly swoops in and pounces on its prey. I was able to notice when the spider caught the type of insect that is visible in the picture that I have prepared. These spiders also do not make webs to catch prey, but instead use silk to protect their eggs or make silk supports to rest on plants and leaves.
