Hello my dear "Winers"

I can't believe it's already been five months since I last talked about wine!
But don't be fooled, I've kept on drinking.
Honestly I missed this so much that for some time I even considered only writing this for a while.

So, let's get right into the subject, shall we?

To make this comeback a little special I'm bringing something different.

Even though my favorite wines are usually from the North or Center, from time to time I like to shake things up with a southern wine.

"Herdade de Catapereiro - Reserva " is a Single Vineyard wine is made by "Companhia das Lezírias", located around the Ribatejo region.

As we know soil and height are determinant factors to the type of grape you can get, and therefore, wine quality.

Now, let's take a look at the** grapes**:

  • Touriga-Nacional;
  • Alicante Bouschet;
  • Merlot;

I'm in love with this picture

Appreciation:

First and foremost: WOW! Second, let it breath.

On the mouth, while tannins were subtle, at first is a mix of power and softness, it feels embodied but also velvety. It has a great finishing trace.
On the nose, at first is intense, very intense. But after giving it some time you'll be able to pin-point certain aromas like plum and raspberry but also some more masculine scents like leather and oak.
In the eyes,well, I guess for the first time I don't need to say much.
The picture speaks for it self. A great almost perfect rubi color and if you notice the glass border you can see the tears coming down in slow motion.

This has to be appreciated carefully, because it's 14% will take you down a very mellow road to satisfaction.

It goes hand in hand with bread and cheese 😎

Till next time!

CHEERS!
