Kitchen at Starbucks featuring sakura-matcha doughnut and spring latte.
Drink specials- sakura saku saku (crunchy) frappuccino and sakura soy latte.
Happy weekend to you fellow hivers and members of the Cinnamon Cup Coffee community. This post is being done in response to #TheCoffeeShopPrompt.
Temperatures are still fluctuating but there were some fairly warm days this week here in Kobe. It felt like the perfect time to do without a few layer of clothes though it’s always best to keep extra layers close. The lower temperatures remind us that spring is in the air. Spring is also already in coffee shops. I got a full reminder after making a few stops at Starbucks.
Spring Collection (2023)of Mugs,Tumblers, Cups…
I stopped by the shop to chill a bit. On entering and before ordering a white mocha latte with soy milk, I was greeted with the spring collection of cups, mugs, tumblers and notebooks. There was coffee too, of course. Though not a collector of the items, I could honestly start seeing the reason people “go out of the way” to get or collect them. Though I haven’t caught on, admittedly, they are really kawaii (cute) and the designs are just lovely. I’ve always been impressed with the variety and uniqueness of designs that Starbucks Japan offers each year and for the different seasons.

Loving the embossed sakura though I’d probably prefer a different shade of pink.
The coffee displayed included, cold brew, spring blend, coffee from Ethiopia, Guatemala and El Salvador.
Pastry 🥮 🥐
Pastry specials-sakura and matcha doughnut/donut and sakura chiffon cake.
Google translation of the pastry specials.
Scones, pies, cinnamon rolls and doughnuts were among the pastries displayed for sale.
After viewing the collection and glancing at the pastry, I looked for, found a seat and used a small packet of tissue to indicate that that table was taken. I got in line and ordered a white mocha latte with soy milk. I’d usually order a chai tea latte but now occasionally get a white mocha. It was refreshing and just what I needed for a little down time. Even the cup was in “spring attire”. It was a great way to enjoy coffee while anticipating all that comes with my favorite season of the year-spring.
