To my great surprise, when I logged into my Splinterlands account, I discovered that to play in the Wild League, I now needed to pay a fee in vouchers, DEC, or credits. My disappointment was immense. I voiced my concerns on the game's Discord server, and although @clove71 responded and had the courtesy to send me the 2000 DEC fee ( you can visit her post https://hive.blog/hive-13323/@clove71/qojbcewe ) , it seems the game management team has decided that this new feature is the best way to deter bots. Essentially, they are asking the game's most loyal and long-time players to pay in order to use their old-time precious cards.
Personally, I find this decision very unfair. While I understand the need to prevent bots from ruining the game experience, I believe that accounts using bots will continue to do so and won't be deterred by this fee. The only players who are truly affected are those like me, dedicated and legitimate players. Now, I'm questioning whether it's worth continuing to play the game. The fees they are asking for might not even be covered by the rewards earned during the fighting season. If I can't cover my costs, it's discouraging to continue playing. This new feature seems to be driving away genuine players rather than targeting the bots.
To prove my point, I started a test. I'm tracking how much SPS I earn throughout this season to see if it's enough to cover the fee for the next season. I believe many legitimate Splinterlands users are frustrated by this change and I'm not the only one feeling this way. I've supported this game from day one, not because I'm a millionaire or looking to become one, but because I genuinely enjoy playing it.
We are going through difficult times in altcoins, and SPS is under considerable pressure. The need for new players is more critical than ever. This fee could potentially discourage new players from joining and might also fail to awake players who have stopped playing to get active again. I trust the administration team and Yaba himself, but this move seems counterproductive.
I want to appeal to the game's administration not to disappoint passionate players like me with such changes. We love Splinterlands and we're not here to see SPS skyrocket to 50 cents just to sell everything for a quick profit. We're here because we genuinely love the game.
I don't want to burden you with more complaints.. I think the reason for this post is clear. I hope the best solutions are found for the good of Splinterlands. I implore you, don't let us down.
