Hello my creative friends at hive! I hope you are feeling well today, here I share with you the process of this drawing that I made about two hands holding each other as a hand practice. I hope you like it and I invite you to read me! ❤️✨

Materiales/Materials

  • What I used to make the drawing in traditional on a cardboard type sheet size 35 x 28 cm, a graphite pencil 2 HB and an eraser (I cut my eraser making the corners to be pointed so it will be easier to erase small spaces), my colors, my watercolors and a white liquid corrector.

✨Paso a paso/ Step by Step✨

I started by making a sketch of the hands, I tried to make the stroke as smooth as possible since I didn't want the color to join with the graphite color when using watercolors. When I had the sketch ready I started to add water to my watercolors and to prepare them, when I had them ready I used a brush and started to make the tones that I would use for the skin and for the sleeves of her clothes, for the skin I mixed orange with a little white so that the color would not look so saturated and would have a more pastel tone and for the sleeves of the clothes I used dark blue and mixed blue and green to have a turquoise tone.

After the watercolor layer was completely dry I started to paint the skin of the hands, I outlined the hands with purple color and then continued using red to make the knuckles and fingertips as reddish then I added orange and finally I used peach color to have a skin tone and join the colors of the gradient, with a pastel yellow I painted in the parts inside the hands and where they join, making allusion to a light inside them. I continued using turquoise and blue to paint one of the sleeves of the clothes and with the other sleeve I used blue and dark blue, to unite the tones I used white, around the hands I started to make a gradient from red to orange and finally to pastel yellow, making like the heat that emanates from both.

This is the result of the drawing, to finish I used the white liquid concealer to make the shines around the heat ring, on her nails and part of the sleeves of her clothes, I highlighted a little more the purple outline of her hands and with black pen I made some details like some stars and some lines in the places where there are shadows. I liked the result, it reminds me of that style of drawings that were called grunge or tumblr because they looked like they had a filter or were simple and most called them that way because they were also shared in that application, I liked drawing the hands and the aura around them, it was like describing what it feels like to hold someone's hands, that feeling of warmth I reflected it through the ring plus the light that I added between her intertwined hands being like the origin of that feeling. Drawing hands is sometimes quite complicated and even in this drawing I struggled a little with the structure of the fingers but I think the best way to learn is to see the complete shape of them and try to do it and then gradually give shape to the fingers. ❤️✨

Another great work of art from you! I hear that hands are difficult to draw, and when people use AI tools to make images of people it often has trouble rendering the hands correctly. You did a great job with the two hands holding each other.

I also love the idea of holding hands. Whether it is 2 friends or 2 family members or 2 lovers, holding hands is a symbol of the connection they have and the affection they have for each other.

So thanks for sharing the pics of another great drawing with us! :)

Thank you very much! Always happy to read your comments. It's like that, I think the main problem with AI's is that they look for more patterns to guide them in the faces and details such as clothing, exteriors and hair among other things but yes, I think this is because they do not require in an important way to get data on how to make the hands and do not take importance and when it comes to reflect it just looks weird or with many fingers hahahaha

Totally, I have always seen the act of holding someone's hands as a union, sometimes it is taken as a normal action something that would be done just because but I see it beyond, holding someone's hands goes beyond the context of why you do it, you are transmitting something through that union as well as the other person will also transmit something to you.
