After my post talking about how Rockstar Games was failing, I had a hankering to revisit RDR2 Online. In a previous post, I talked about how much hopes I had for this game, Alas they were all dashed when Rockstar Games decided to move their resources to GTAO and GTA6. But nonetheless, I decided to revisit RDR2 Online.
I’ve had RDR2 Online before for the PS4, but since I started my PC gaming Journey over a year ago, I have bought a lot of games I’ve owned previously on the PS4, for the PC. My most recent ones were the AC franchise, which has been an experience since I’m reading the other media that go with the games.
But I already talked about my experiences with RDR2 Online on the PC and the glorious graphics, so now instead I’m going to talk about a little of my online adventures that took place today.
I started RDRO up as a break from BG3 and the AC franchise. I haven’t had much time to play games lately so I really prefer games that I can pick up and play for 20 minutes and then put down. When I started RDRO up, I decided that I would go and get the Moonshiner role.
Now the last time I was on here, I only had 10 gold, so when I hopped on and saw that I had 36 I was kinda flabbergasted, but it did mean that I didn’t have to slowly grind for the other gold that would have been needed.
The story for Moonshiners, is that a Moonshiner by the name of Maggie, is looking to get back into the business after being quite literally burnt out by the Revenue agents. They locked her in her shed and caught the place on fire and watched as she burnt, but she survived and is back with a vengeance.

Aun así, decidí volver a visitar RDR2 Online.
He tenido RDR2 Online antes para PS4, pero desde que comencé mi viaje con los juegos de PC hace más de un año, compré muchos juegos que tenía anteriormente en PS4, para PC. Los más recientes fueron la franquicia AC, que ha sido una experiencia desde que leo los otros medios que acompañan a los juegos.
Pero ya hablé de mis experiencias con RDR2 Online en PC y los gloriosos gráficos, así que ahora voy a hablar de un poco de mis aventuras online que tuvieron lugar hoy.
Empecé RDRO como una ruptura con BG3 y la franquicia AC. Últimamente no he tenido mucho tiempo para jugar, así que prefiero los juegos que puedo aprender y jugar durante 20 minutos y luego dejarlos. Cuando inicié RDRO, decidí que conseguiría el papel de Moonshiner.
Ahora bien, la última vez que estuve aquí, solo tenía 10 de oro, así que cuando me subí y vi que tenía 36 me quedé un poco estupefacto, pero eso significó que no tenía que esforzarme lentamente para obtener el otro oro que han sido necesarios.
La historia de Moonshiners es que una Moonshiner llamada Maggie está buscando volver al negocio después de haber sido literalmente quemada por los agentes de Hacienda. La encerraron en su cobertizo, prendieron fuego al lugar y observaron cómo se quemaba, pero sobrevivió y regresó con venganza.
After the initial 25 gold it cost to set up a shack, which I chose as the location of Tall Trees,, as it’s kind of the halfway point in the map. It was time to start the preparation needed to get the place up and running.
First up was finding someone who could actually distill moonshine, and that is where Marcel came in. Maggie had narrowed this man’s location down, and it turns out he was kidnapped by a gang of not for good nothing scoundrels.
I made my way to the camp, and it was at this point I remembered my firearm selection was slim. So I took out my bolt-action rifle and Carbine Reapeter, and took aim. The entire gang must have been at the camp, and I underestimated the size of it. Nonetheless, I timed my shots carefully, getting headshots where I could, and kept moving, not leaving myself be pinned down. And when the last of them laid, it was time to get down to business. And that business was looting.

Lo primero fue encontrar a alguien que realmente pudiera destilar alcohol ilegal, y ahí es donde entró Marcel. Maggie había acotado la ubicación de este hombre, y resulta que fue secuestrado por una pandilla de sinvergüenzas que no eran para nada bueno.
Me dirigí al campamento y fue en ese momento que recordé que mi selección de armas de fuego era escasa. Así que saqué mi rifle de cerrojo y mi carabina Reapeter y apunté. Toda la pandilla debía haber estado en el campamento y subestimé su tamaño. Sin embargo, programé mis disparos con cuidado, disparando a la cabeza siempre que pude, y seguí moviéndome, sin dejarme inmovilizar. Y cuando el último de ellos se acostó, llegó el momento de ponerse manos a la obra. Y ese negocio era el saqueo.
After my grave robbing was done, I untied Marcel, who informed me that he once worked for Jessica LeClerk, our rescuer from the main story, but was kidnapped. When we got back to the shack, he was more than glad to see Maggie but there was something else we needed to do before we got to work.
! [Spanish]Después de que terminé de robar la tumba, desaté a Marcel, quien me informó que una vez trabajó para Jessica LeClerk, nuestra salvadora de la historia principal, pero que fue secuestrado. Cuando regresamos a la choza, estaba más que contento de ver a Maggie, pero había algo más que teníamos que hacer antes de ponernos a trabajar.
We needed supplies. And what better way to get some than to steal it off of our competitors. The camp the supplies were in was not heavily guarded. It had three men, all of whom I killed before they knew what was happening, and in a wagon was the equipment I needed.
! [Spanish]Necesitábamos suministros. Y qué mejor manera de conseguirlo que robárselo a nuestros competidores. El campamento donde se encontraban los suministros no estaba fuertemente vigilado. Tenía tres hombres, a todos los cuales maté antes de que supieran lo que estaba pasando, y en una carreta estaba el equipo que necesitaba.
I stole the wagon and thought everything was fine and dandy until I came to a Revenue Agent Checkpoint. They were looking for contraband. I let the inspector get close, before blasting him in the head, and speeding off to the shack.
! [Spanish]Robé la carreta y pensé que todo estaba bien y perfecto hasta que llegué al puesto de control del agente fiscal. Buscaban contrabando. Dejé que el inspector se acercara, antes de dispararle en la cabeza y salir corriendo hacia la choza.
Marcel was able to set everything up, and we started to produce some of that good ole shine, but Maggie had another concern. It was more of a favor. One of her business partners, her nephew, named Lem, was being transported to Sisika Prison. And she wanted me to break him out.
! [Spanish]Marcel pudo configurar todo y comenzamos a producir algo de ese buen brillo, pero Maggie tenía otra preocupación. Fue más bien un favor. Uno de sus socios comerciales, su sobrino, llamado Lem, estaba siendo transportado a la prisión de Sisika. Y ella quería que lo sacara.
First, I went to the camp where another prisoner was being held. The ones guarding him fell easily enough. They were the ones who were to meet up with the convoy transporting Lem. With them taking care of, I freed the prisoner that was in their care, and headed to intercept the prison wagon that carried Lem.
! [Spanish]Primero, fui al campo donde estaba recluido otro prisionero. Los que lo custodiaban cayeron con bastante facilidad. Ellos eran los que debían encontrarse con el convoy que transportaba a Lem. Con ellos a cargo, liberé al prisionero que estaba bajo su cuidado y me dirigí a interceptar el carro de la prisión que llevaba a Lem.
I waited by a river until I saw the wagon. I lined up my rifle and quickly shot one of the drivers, and as the other one picked up the reins, I shot him too. What I didn’t know was that those bullets would mark the fight of my life.

Revenue agents seemed to come up from everywhere, from across the river, from in front of us, from behind. I ran across the river, using it as a barrier to slow the bastards, and using the trees in the wooded area as cover. After a long fight, the river had turned red, and at least thirty agents lay dead at my feet.
! [Spanish]Los agentes fiscales parecían venir de todas partes, del otro lado del río, delante de nosotros, detrás de nosotros. Crucé el río corriendo, usándolo como barrera para frenar a los bastardos y usando los árboles en el área boscosa como cobertura. Después de una larga lucha, el río se había puesto rojo y al menos treinta agentes yacían muertos a mis pies.
Lem hopped up on my horse, and told him his story. He was captured before the Agents, and the leader of them Hixon, threw Maggie inside the burning shack. He had to watch as he thought his Aunt burnt to death and was only finding out now that she was still alive. He theorized the prisoner transfer was to lure her out, but the agents were not expecting me.

Back at the shack, Maggie welcomed Lem with open arms, thanking me for rescuing her son, and assuring me that this was a surefire way to win her friendship. She also had something else cooking up but would need more time.

I used this as an opportunity to do some bounty hunting. Now my level in BH isn’t all that high and it meant that I got the lower-end bounties. And I soon remembered why I hated bounty hunting.
The bounty hunter role has some pretty cool unlockables, which includes a reinforced Lasso, bolas ( rope balls that trip up people), some cosmetics and horses. But the downfall of this is that the bounties only pay out $15 Alive, on the low end.
To put this into perspective, I can easily earn that amount of money, in the same time frame (10 minutes) by hunting and selling the pelts to the butcher.
But I went BHing anyways and came to a realization. The lower-end bounties, or the ones I have done were victims of circumstance. One woman I tracked down was wanted because she fed two people “contaminated meat”, which in the 1800s wouldn’t be that hard to do by mistake. Or another one, about a man who had shot the man who had “accidentally” shot his daughter and killed her a year prior.
! [Spanish]Aproveché esto como una oportunidad para cazar recompensas. Ahora mi nivel en BH no es tan alto y eso significó que obtuve las recompensas más bajas. Y pronto recordé por qué odiaba la caza de recompensas.
El rol de cazarrecompensas tiene algunos desbloqueables bastante interesantes, que incluyen un lazo reforzado, bolas (bolas de cuerda que hacen tropezar a las personas), algunos cosméticos y caballos. Pero la desventaja de esto es que las recompensas solo pagan $15 por Alive, en el extremo inferior.
Para poner esto en perspectiva, puedo ganar fácilmente esa cantidad de dinero, en el mismo período de tiempo (10 minutos), cazando y vendiendo las pieles al carnicero.
Pero de todos modos fui a hacer BHing y me di cuenta. Las recompensas de menor nivel, o las que yo he otorgado, fueron víctimas de las circunstancias. Se buscaba a una mujer que localicé porque alimentó a dos personas con “carne contaminada”, lo que en el siglo XIX no sería tan difícil de hacer por error. U otra, sobre un hombre que le había disparado al hombre que “accidentalmente” le había disparado a su hija y la había matado un año antes.
The bounty hunting was easy, but it certainly wasn’t worth it in terms of what I earned. To make up for this I looted the dead, and it gave me an alright sum.
Afterwards, I headed back to Maggie’s for the next phase of our plan. Danny Lee was a moonshiner who use to work for Maggie but was now working with the Braithwraites. And he and his buddies had a couple of distilleries set up in the swamp. And I was going to destroy them.

The camp, or more correctly camps, were littered with men. There were six distilleries all together. I debated on how I wanted to make my approach. I could go in guns blazing or try to go in stealth-like. Having bought some new weapons, an improved bow and a repeater shotgun, I decided to go in stealth like… At first.
! [Spanish]El campo, o más correctamente los campos, estaba lleno de hombres. En total había seis destilerías. Debatí sobre cómo quería hacer mi enfoque. Podría disparar con armas de fuego o intentar actuar con sigilo. Habiendo comprado algunas armas nuevas, un arco mejorado y una escopeta de repetición, decidí actuar con sigilo como... Al principio.
Just hear me out, it did work out well until I realized I couldn’t destroy the distilleries without alerting the men. So I had to go loud. Dozens of men came out, some were met with my arrows, others with slugs to their chest. When they were all dead, there was only two more distilleries that needed to go.
! [Spanish]Escúchame, funcionó bien hasta que me di cuenta de que no podía destruir las destilerías sin alertar a los hombres. Así que tuve que hacer ruido. Decenas de hombres salieron, algunos recibieron mis flechas, otros con balas en el pecho. Cuando todos estuvieron muertos, solo quedaban dos destilerías más por cerrar.
This was across the swamp, and luckily, they were not on alert. There were few enough men here that I was able to take them out silently, and once they were all laying dead on the ground… Kaboom!
! [Spanish]Esto fue al otro lado del pantano y, afortunadamente, no estaban en alerta. Había pocos hombres aquí como para poder eliminarlos en silencio, y una vez que estuvieron todos muertos en el suelo… ¡Kaboom!
As the camps burnt and smoke rose high above the Bayou, I made my way back to Maggie. But I was not alone. Soon after getting back, Danny Lee and his Braithwraites boys busted in, guns raised. Maggie called the man a coward and chastised him on who he was now looking for, the Braithwraites or more specifically Bartholomew Braithwaite, who was present. You might remember this guy as the dude Dutch shoots in the head after the Braithwaites kidnap Jack.
But without a single shot fired, only some heated words were exchanged. They left, and it was time to get down to our next adventure….
! [Spanish]Mientras los campamentos ardían y el humo se elevaba por encima del pantano, regresé con Maggie. Pero no estaba solo. Poco después de regresar, Danny Lee y sus muchachos Braithwraites irrumpieron con las armas en alto. Maggie llamó cobarde al hombre y lo reprendió por quién estaba buscando ahora, los Braithwraite o, más específicamente, Bartholomew Braithwaite, que estaba presente. Quizás recuerdes a este tipo como el tipo que Dutch dispara en la cabeza después de que los Braithwaites secuestraran a Jack.
Pero sin disparar un solo tiro, sólo se intercambiaron algunas palabras acaloradas. Se fueron y llegó el momento de comenzar nuestra próxima aventura….
