There's a few games that I would say that set me on a path to becoming a gaming, one of those games was Fable 1. I remember playing this for the original xbox back in the day, and it wouldn't be until I was around 13 did I find out that there was an expansion to this game!
Throughout the years my love for Fable has stuck with me. I remember when I first got an Xbox 360 endlessly watching the Fable 2 trailer that came installed on it. I remember begging my parents for the game for Xmas, and finally recieving it!
Oddly enough, I never even knew Fable 3 existed until one day I strolled into a Rogers Plus, and found a copy of it on sale for $40. I immedately found my parents in the mall and practically begged them to buy it for me. They did.
But Fable 3 had sort of left me dissapointed. Not as much as some people as I still find it's a solid game, but they diverged so far away from what made 2 great that it just wasn't all that good.

And then there was Fable Journey, a game that I still haven't played to this day but had heard a lot of bad things about it.
But to say that I am a fan of this series is an understatement. I often find myself replaying the series and discovering things I never even knew about it! Like how it wasn't until last year when I managed to keep all the promises in Fable 3, while also having enough money so 0 people in Albion got killed during the Darkness invasion, that I encountered secret dialogue by Theresa.
But enough reminiscing, because what I want to talk about today is Fable 4. This is a game I have been excited for for a very long time, that was until some news started to come out about this game, mainly that the game would be made for the Modern Audience. Modern Audience when it comes to reboots, is a very bad term to use. For an example, the Saints Row Reboot was described using those exact words.

There has been very little news about Fable 4, but last week was the Xbox Showcase, and we got another teaser trailer for this game, and in all honesty I am worried.
If the game is going to be like the trailer than it isn't going to be a good game. It's going to be a game that relies too heavily on being goofy. Sure, Fable always had these elements to it, but it was always secondary, the trailer seems to be putting that front and center.
The BIG thing that worries me however is the fact that it doesn't feel like FABLE. In the trailer we see a Giant that lives in the clouds, and can be accessed by climbing a beanstalk. That is just too fairytalish. Fable was always known for this, but like the goofiness, it was done in their own way and never fully felt like we were playing a "fairy tale" game. The trailer honestly has me worried for this game, and I have a funny feeling this is going to be another Saints Row Reboot situation, where the developers never knew what made the original great and while trying to recreate it, they completely butcher it!

A lo largo de los años, mi amor por Fable se ha quedado conmigo. Recuerdo cuando compré por primera vez una Xbox 360 mirando sin cesar el tráiler de Fable 2 que venía instalado en ella. Recuerdo haber rogado a mis padres por el juego para Navidad, ¡y finalmente lo recibí!
Por extraño que parezca, nunca supe que Fable 3 existía hasta que un día entré en un Rogers Plus y encontré una copia a la venta por $ 40. Inmediatamente encontré a mis padres en el centro comercial y prácticamente les rogué que me lo compraran. Lo hicieron.
Pero Fable 3 me había dejado algo decepcionado. No tanto como algunas personas, ya que sigo pensando que es un juego sólido, pero se alejaron tanto de lo que hizo que 2 fuera genial que simplemente no fue tan bueno.
Y luego estaba Fable Journey, un juego que todavía no he jugado pero que había escuchado muchas cosas malas sobre él.
Pero decir que soy un fan de esta serie es quedarse corto. ¡A menudo me encuentro reproduciendo la serie y descubriendo cosas que ni siquiera sabía! Por ejemplo, no fue hasta el año pasado, cuando logré cumplir todas las promesas en Fable 3, mientras tenía suficiente dinero para que 0 personas en Albion fueran asesinadas durante la invasión de la Oscuridad, que me encontré con un diálogo secreto de Theresa.
Pero basta de recordar, porque de lo que quiero hablar hoy es de Fable 4. Este es un juego que me ha entusiasmado durante mucho tiempo, eso fue hasta que comenzaron a salir algunas noticias sobre este juego, principalmente que el juego sería Hecho para la audiencia moderna. Audiencia moderna cuando se trata de reinicios, es un término muy malo para usar. Por ejemplo, el reinicio de Saints Row se describió con esas palabras exactas.
Ha habido muy pocas noticias sobre Fable 4, pero la semana pasada fue Xbox Showcase, y obtuvimos otro tráiler de este juego, y con toda honestidad, estoy preocupado.
Si el juego va a ser como el tráiler, entonces no va a ser un buen juego. Va a ser un juego que se basa demasiado en ser tonto. Claro, Fable siempre tuvo estos elementos, pero siempre fue secundario, el tráiler parece estar poniendo eso al frente y al centro.
Sin embargo, lo GRANDE que me preocupa es el hecho de que no se siente como un tráiler. En el tráiler vemos un Gigante que vive en las nubes, y se puede acceder trepando un tallo de frijol. Eso es demasiado fantasioso. Fable siempre fue conocido por esto, pero al igual que las tonterías, se hizo a su manera y nunca se sintió completamente como si estuviéramos jugando un juego de "cuento de hadas". Honestamente, el tráiler me tiene preocupado por este juego, y tengo la extraña sensación de que será otra situación de reinicio de Saints Row, donde los desarrolladores nunca supieron qué hizo que el original fuera genial y, al tratar de recrearlo, ¡lo destrozaron por completo!
