I discovered Splinterlands at the very beginning of my journey on Hive. Suffice it to say, I was already overwhelmed with everything there was to learn on the platform, and I didn’t understand anything about Splinterlands.
I got so lost in this universe that when I tried to connect my Hive account to Splinterlands, I accidentally created a new Hive account.
Last December, I played a little. Then I completely stopped—not for lack of motivation, but like a true beginner, I had lost my keys and couldn’t log back in.
It was only recently, after some searching, that I finally found my keys. They were simply safe and sound, stored securely.
When I logged back in, I noticed a major overhaul had taken place. Far from getting lost, the interface is now much more intuitive, making it easier to get back into the game.
I started playing a few games again... and losing, of course. I no longer remembered the techniques, and I had forgotten about the cards. For example, I had completely forgotten that melee attacks don’t work at a distance. It’s so obvious!
So, I fired up YouTube and watched a few basic videos to refresh my memory on the rules. This was last Saturday morning.
Without realizing it, I was near the end of the season (at the time, I didn’t even know what a season was).
The video I watched recommended renting cards to progress in the game. Without much thought, I rented a full set for 17 days.
It’s the "Chaos Legion" set. I’m not entirely sure if it was the best choice, but at least it helps me get familiar with the cards and earn SPS (when I win).
I played a few interesting matches with cards from this set. At first, I would skip straight to the results without paying much attention. But now, before the match starts, I take the time to examine the opponent’s cards and try to predict how the game will unfold.
I also don’t hesitate to rewatch the same match several times when I miss something.
I must admit, I don’t do this every time, but often enough that it makes a noticeable difference.
In general, I like playing with Tarsa (Level 2). She gives +1 to melee attack and +1 to health, which really boosts my teams.
My first card is often "Forgotten One," who acts as my tank. Right behind it, I place "Radiated Brute," who can use its melee attack from the second position and isn’t too mana-hungry. I then fill in with whatever I have on hand to support the rest.

How Do I Spend My Glint?
The concept of Glint is still very new to me. Based on what I’ve seen in other posts, I earn very little—around 41 Glint on average. I thought I was doing pretty well!
So, I need to spend them wisely.
Luckily, I came across an excellent post by @blitzzzz, who explains that for players earning between 1 and 1,000 Glint, it’s best to buy either chests for 200 Glint or the "Rare Draw" for 750 Glint. However, I’m considering saving up for the "Epic Draw" at 7,500 Glint. I’m not sure if that’s statistically a good idea. I guess it depends on my goals in the game. And since I don’t really have any goals at the moment... yeah, it’s probably a good idea!
So, my way of spending Glint is pretty naive. But I appreciate the concept of reverse pedagogy: try first, learn later.

J'ai découvert Splinterlands au tout début de mon parcours sur Hive. Autant dire que j'étais déjà submergé par tout ce qu'il fallait apprendre sur la plateforme, et je n'ai rien compris à Splinterlands.
Je me suis tellement perdu dans cet univers que, quand j'ai voulu connecter mon compte Hive à Splinterlands, j'ai accidentellement créé un nouveau compte Hive.
En décembre dernier, j'ai joué un peu. Puis, j'ai complètement arrêté. Non pas par manque de motivation, mais comme un vrai débutant, j'avais perdu mes clés et je ne pouvais plus me reconnecter.
Ce n'est que récemment, en fouillant un peu, que j'ai retrouvé mes clés. Elles étaient tout simplement en sécurité, bien au chaud.
En me reconnectant, j'ai découvert qu'une grosse refonte avait eu lieu. Loin de m'y perdre, l'interface est désormais bien plus intuitive, ce qui m'a facilité la reprise.
J'ai donc recommencé à faire quelques parties... et à perdre. Forcément, je n'ai plus les techniques en tête, je ne connais plus les cartes. Par exemple, j'avais complètement oublié que les attaques de mêlée ne fonctionnent pas à distance. C'est pourtant logique !
J'ai donc allumé YouTube et regardé quelques vidéos basiques pour me remémorer les règles. C'était samedi matin dernier.
Sans le savoir, j'étais à la fin de la saison (à l'époque, je ne savais même pas ce qu'était une saison).
La vidéo que j'ai suivie m'a conseillé de louer des cartes pour progresser dans le jeu. Sans trop réfléchir, j'ai donc loué un set complet pour 17 jours.
Il s'agit du set "Chaos Legion". Je ne sais pas vraiment si c'était le bon choix, mais au moins, cela me permet de me familiariser avec les cartes et de récolter des SPS (quand je gagne).
J'ai fait quelques parties intéressantes avec des cartes de ce set. Au début, je passais directement aux résultats sans vraiment m'attarder. Mais maintenant, avant que la partie ne commence, je prends le temps d'examiner les cartes de l'adversaire et d'essayer de deviner comment ça va se dérouler.
Je n'hésite pas non plus à revoir plusieurs fois une même partie quand quelque chose m'échappe.
Je dois bien l'avouer, je ne fais pas ça systématiquement, mais suffisamment souvent pour que cela fasse une différence notable.

Comment je dépense mes Glint ?
Le concept des Glint est encore tout nouveau pour moi. D'après ce que j'ai vu dans les autres publications, j'en gagne très peu : environ 41 Glint en moyenne. Je pensais pourtant que j'étais pas mal.
Je dois donc les dépenser de manière judicieuse.
Et justement, je suis tombé sur une excellente publication de @blitzzzz, qui explique que pour les joueurs ayant entre 1 et 1 000 Glint, il est préférable d'acheter soit des coffres à 200 Glint, soit le "Rare Draw" à 750 Glint.
