Hello Hivers,

It is a new week and I thought to start with a video of me prototyping one of the UI designs I made in the course of my UI/UX design internship.

A brief recap. The assignment was to design a mobile app for book donation. As a designer, it is not possible to just hit the ground and start designing without some user research. Researching will enable you to design from the user's point of view. In other words, there is a need to understand the behavior of potential users, what their pain points and frustrations are like, what will give them maximum satisfaction, etc. in order to be able to design a user-centered application.

So, in earnest, I did a bit of research through a survey, cumulated the responses in order to get the empathy map before extracting the pain points in order to know the core features that should be included in the app. All these I did before sitting down with Figma to proceed with the design and the result is what you are seeing in the video.

After designing, I prototyped the design in order to have a glimpse of how it will work when fully ready. If anyone is interested enough to help me test the prototype, the link is below: https://www.figma.com/proto/oY8loanSQ5jOqw2jEKPX5h/iBook?node-id=11%3A17&scaling=scale-down&page-id=11%3A2&starting-point-node-id=11%3A17&show-proto-sidebar=1

I know that the app might not be so great in terms of aesthetics. As a learner, my primary concern, for now, is to understand the basic principles behind designs and get apps out as simple as possible without losing any core features. All other things bordering around aesthetics will definitely come as time goes on.

What do you guys think?

Thank you.
