El amor es extraño nace, surge y se plantea de muchas maneras, nadie sabe lo que realmente es, pero se tiene la certeza de que cuando está ilumina tu existir y te permite recorrer la vida en términos más plenos.
Cuando conocí a Firefly tenía la certeza de que esa familia que no escogemos llamada “amistad” se había presentado de la manera correcta, una chica sonriente un día se había sentado a mi lado a cantar y al siguiente me invitaba a compartir con ella en el almuerzo.
Todos parecían quererla y los comprendo, era servicial, única e irreverente, nunca se veía de mal humor y rara vez comentaba algo negativo, todo era chistes y risas.
Sentía una conexión especial me escuchaba y alentada a forjar mi propio camino, afirmaba que aunque muchos nacen para algo, otros somos arquitectos de nuestro destino lo que no nos hace menos talentosos.
Soy “Tiana la tímida” así que las letras me iluminan, lo que plasmo tiene vida y es fácil saber que prefiero estar detrás de los reflectores.
Un día Firefly me presentó a Diego, un chico que me atrajo al instante y en constantes interacciones se hizo un lugar en mi corazón y el afirmaba sentir lo mismo.
Diego y yo éramos una pareja soñada y Firefly me apoyaba, sin embargo, él quería algo distinto para nuestra relación, monopolizaba gran parte de mi tiempo y en algún punto solo se molestaba si pasábamos tiempo con mis amigos, “quería rodearse de otro tipo de gente.”
Con sinceridad era incómodo para mí, pero lo quería y accedí a ver más personas; eran chicos con grandes oportunidades y destrezas, pero estaban sumidos en la oscuridad, en ese tiempo no lo veía y Firefly me recordaba que “debemos aceptar a nuestros amigos como son, nadie es perfecto.”
Un día mientras se reunían comenzaron a hablar de cómo debería tratarlos la vida, en sus historias todos eran culpables menos ellos, sentía que eran bastantes suertudos, personas como Firefly tenían una vida compleja y veían la vida distintos, en muchos momentos quise dar mi punto de vista para Diego no quería enamistarse, eran el grupo “para triunfar.”
Un día comencé a ver actitudes que estaban más allá de lo correcto y Diego aunque incómodo se mostraba de acuerdo. Para ser sincera, desde que estábamos con esos chicos ambos vivíamos cansados, y más de una vez, ví a Diego con actitudes bastante repudiables hacia otros.
No quería culpar a nadie, al final cada uno tiene su visión de la vida, pero recordé un consejo que me dieron hace mucho “aunque no estés en el barro, si andan con ellos saldrás salpicada”, y pensaba que personas como Firefly eran más enriquecedoras.
Con mis amigos hablamos de proyectos y progreso, aun cuando teníamos tiempo difíciles siempre existía esas ganas de progresar, el contenido de esa amistad me hacía feliz, y como una forma de amor decidí conversar del tema con Diego.
Diego se enojó en un principio, pero con los días entendió mi razón. Él había perdido su esencia y aunque eran personas con mucho poder, notaba como su energía se iba, me amaba y no quería perderme por involucrarse en esos problemas.
Ambos no cortamos conexiones en total, pero volvimos a compartir con mi grupo, entendiendo que aceptar a nuestros amigos en tener una forma de amor en la que todos somos conscientes de nuestro valor (tomando en cuenta, defectos y virtudes) y nos sumamos unos a otros, donde se habla de salir adelante, no excesos y malas actitudes.
Muchos creen que aceptar y aguantar están en la misma línea, pero cuando se trata de relaciones se debe estar con personas que vibren en la misma sintonía.

When I met Firefly I had the certainty that this family that we do not choose called “friendship” had presented itself in the right way, a smiling girl one day had sat next to me to sing and the next she invited me to share lunch with her.
Everyone seemed to love her and I understand them, she was helpful, unique and irreverent, she never seemed in a bad mood and rarely commented on anything negative, it was all jokes and laughter.
She felt a special connection, she listened to me and encouraged me to forge my own path, she affirmed that although many are born for something, others of us are architects of our destiny which does not make us any less talented.
I am “Tiana the shy” so the lyrics light me up, what I write has life and it is easy to know that I prefer to be behind the spotlight.
One day Firefly introduced me to Diego, a guy I was instantly attracted to and in constant interactions he made a place in my heart and he claimed to feel the same way.
Diego and I were a dream couple and Firefly was supportive, however, he wanted something different for our relationship, he monopolized a lot of my time and at some point just got annoyed if we spent time with my friends, “he wanted to surround himself with other types of people.”
In all honesty it was uncomfortable for me, but I wanted it and agreed to see more people; they were kids with great opportunities and skills, but they were mired in darkness, at the time I didn't see it and Firefly reminded me that “we must accept our friends for who they are, no one is perfect.”
One day while they were meeting they started talking about how life should treat them, in their stories everyone was guilty but them, I felt they were quite lucky, people like Firefly had a complex life and saw life differently, in many moments I wanted to give my point of view for Diego did not want to fall in love, they were the group “to succeed.”
One day I began to see attitudes that were beyond the right thing to do and Diego, although uncomfortable, agreed. To be honest, since we were with those guys we both lived tired, and more than once, I saw Diego with quite repudiatory attitudes towards others.
I didn't want to blame anyone, in the end everyone has their own vision of life, but I remembered a piece of advice I was given long ago “even if you are not in the mud, if they hang out with them you will get splashed”, and I thought that people like Firefly were more enriching.
With my friends we talked about projects and progress, even when we had difficult times there was always that desire to progress, the content of that friendship made me happy, and as a form of love I decided to talk about it with Diego.
Diego was angry at first, but as the days went by he understood my reason. He had lost his essence and although they were people with a lot of power, I noticed how his energy was leaving, he loved me and did not want to lose me by getting involved in those problems.
We both did not cut connections altogether, but we went back to sharing with my group, understanding that accepting our friends in having a form of love where we are all aware of our value (taking into account, flaws and virtues) and we add to each other, where we talk about getting ahead, not excesses and bad attitudes.
Many believe that accepting and putting up with are on the same line, but when it comes to relationships you need to be with people who vibrate on the same tune.
