My phone was stolen and I was able to get another within one week!!!
Let's go!!
In December last year, my phone was stolen. How it happened
On a faithful day, I went to a popular market in Lagos State called Oshodi market to make some deliveries because I also sell household cleaning products such as Toilet Cleaners, Air fresheners, Insecticides, and some other household cleaning agents. I happened to finish late, around 8:45 to 9:00 pm, I just finished at that time only for me to start coming home.
Nigerians know how Lagos is, a very busy place, most especially at night.
So I got to this particular junction to board a bus going to my destination, people were rushing somewhere even pushing themselves to get a bus, unknown to me that I wasn't properly guided. So when I saw the rate at which people were so eager and desperate to get a bus, I had to move a bit closer so I could enter the next available bus that would be coming to that particular junction. When the bus finally came, I had to start rushing and pushing everyone around me who would try to stop me from entering the bus.
Luckily for me, I was able to find myself on the bus, so I then decided to bring out my phone so I could give the driver his money, lo and behold, my phone was nowhere to be found. Immediately, I started shouting, "I can't find my phone" and the other passengers on the bus had to help me call the number, at first it was ringing, almost all the passengers had to help me call the number including the driver, all to no avail.
It was later they suggested I go down from the vehicle and that I should go back to the point at which I boarded the bus, I had to come down only for me to get there and discover that the people that were there were no longer at that spot again.
Instantly, I started crying profusely. I cried because I wasn't ready to get another one as I wasn't financially buoyant then, I cried because most of my Nysc pictures were still on the phone, and I also cried because of my contacts that were on the phone.
After much was said and done, I had to start going back to the places where I made the deliveries to know if I mistakenly left it there because all the people who tried calling it kept telling me that is ringing without a response, all the places I went, they said they didn't see any phone. An officer then told me that I should go to the police station to make a complaint and also if the phone could be tracked. I had to take the next available tricycle to the nearest police station, when I got there, I was been asked to drop my details which I did and I was also told that the officer in charge of tracking wasn't on-site. They then gave me his number so that I could call him at any time, I left the police station immediately and went home.
When I got home, I told my sister about it and immediately she helped me block the account because my account is linked to my sim card, she then asked me if I could call my Aunt and mom to let them know the situation on ground.
Luckily for me, I called my Aunt and explained to her how my phone got stolen and also begged her if she could be of any help to me and she said she was going to assist me with the sum of #15,000. I also called my mom and she also assisted me with the sum of #10,000, my sister assisted me with the sum of #10,000 and I had to look for the remaining amount myself since the money I was able to get from my family and friends wasn't up to the expected amount.
The total money I got from my family was #35,000. I then needed to work harder and I was able to get the balance. I got my current phone at #68,000 the following week which was not up to a one-week interval after the incident. I want to thank my family and friends for supporting and encouraging me during those times. God will keep blessing them.
