Chicken satay

1.jpg

Today I am sharing another of my favorite dishes—a simple chicken satay but so tasty. Of course, you don't have to make an effort to thread the chicken fillet on skewers, but it tastes a bit better. There's something about eating food off a stick. So that's why I like to take that extra step. And also helpful if you want to serve chicken during a barbecue. Satay is highly suitable for that.

Step 1:
Place the skewers in cold water if you are going to barbecue the satay. It prevents the skewers from catching fire.

Step 2:
You need to cut the chicken fillet into cubes about 2 cm in size.

Step 3:
Next, the ginger root: Peel it and then grate it. Again, be careful with your hands.

Step 4:
Peel the garlic and press it.
Set aside a third of the ginger and the garlic for the sauce.

Step 5:
Mix the rest of the ginger and garlic with the oil, sugar, sweet soy sauce, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and two tablespoons of water. This is your marinade.

Step 6:
Pour the marinade over the chicken cubes.

Step 7:
Mix the marinade thoroughly with the chicken cubes and let it marinate for an hour.

Step 8:
After marinating, thread the cubes onto the skewers.

Step 9:
Ensure it is drained well because you need the excess marinade for the sauce.

Step 10:
Strain the marinade and keep the liquid aside for later.

Step 11:
Instead of the barbecue, I'm using a grill pan. It also makes the satay deliciously tender. Of course, the barbecue gives the satay an extra smokey taste, but I have not heard anyone complain at my house that I prepared it in the grill pan this time.😅

Step 12:
Ensure you cook the chicken thoroughly. After preparing all satay, I put it in an oven dish and keep it warm until the sauce and side dishes (rice, prawn crackers, and vegetables) are ready.

Step 13:
Finally, the sauce.
Chop the union. As small as you want. I like it when the sauce cuts the onion as small as possible. But to each their own.

Step 14:
Heat the oil in a skillet and broil the onion. Next, add the ginger and garlic you set aside at the beginning of this recipe and the sambal.

And here, too, to each its own. If you want to add more sambal, ginger, garlic, or other seasonings, I'm the last one to stop you. Make the dish to your liking.

Step 15:
Then you can add the strained marinade. Heat it properly because the marinade contains moisture from the chicken!!!. I don't want anyone to get sick.🙈

Step 16:
Finally, add the peanut butter. By adding water, you can bring your sauce to the desired thickness.

And you're ready! Easy right?

Then only serving out results. This time I opted for rice, prawn crackers, and vegetables. But of course, there are endless combinations possible that are delicious.

I am grateful for taking the time to read my recipe. I convinced you to make it yourself. You will not regret it. Trust me.

Have a fantastic day, keep sharing recipes, and leave a message in the comments.

Till next time, food lovers 🍽️❤️

Eey I feel so hungry now!

Wow this looks good! Thanks for sharing!

This looks amazing.. It should though, concerning the countless amount of steps it takes to prepare it 😂.

Anyways, I'm assuming this post was for Creative Sunday, but you forgot to use the #creative-sunday tag. You should use the tag when making your Creative Sunday posts on Sundays, it makes your post much more easy to find.

Thank you for the heads up! I'll keep that in mind.
