Good morning everyone,
I'm happy to share with us my recent drawing using Adobe Photoshop. One of the goals I set for myself this year is to improve in my digital drawings. I want to move from my simple scribble drawings that I do on my phone to a more advanced and detailed drawing. In order to achieve this, I bought some online classes on Udemy and I've been taking them. The classes are so detailed and so helpful. One of the requirements for the class is a WACOM tablet. I had to buy it and it was very useful.
It would have been so difficult using a mouse. I was able to learn how to use photoshop, how to use colors, how to make detailed facial drawings. My main focus had been portraits, so it's important I learn how to make detailed drawings of the eyes, nose, mouth, ears and the rest of the facial features. After lot of practices, I decided to make this drawing.
The drawing is the first out of three drawings that I have in mind. The focus is to create a collection titled "Nigerian Brides". The drawings will show An Hausa Bride, Igbo Bride and Yoruba Bride. This one is called FATIMA. She is the Hausa bride and the inspiration for this drawing was found here. I was surfing the net and I got attracted to that particular Hausa bride.
Below I will be showing us the process of the drawing but before that I will talk about the brushes I used. The last two brushes were from brushes I downloaded online.
- Hard Pressure Opacity
- Texture brush
- Sampled brush 13
PROCESS
The pictures are not in same quality as the final picture I saved because I screenshot it, resize it and crop it. That must have messed with its quality. I'm still learning how to do most things on the system and I belive i'll find a solution to the reduced quality with time.
- The first thing I did was to make a rough sketch of how my drawing will look like. Next I painted the face and the neck.
- Here I fixed the lashes and I painted the lips and add some highlights to it.
- I started working on the headgear here and I realised the face is a little bit dull so I shaded some highlights to some part of the face.
- I completed the drawing of the headgear here and I added the glitters to it. I also draw the ear and the bead earrings.
- Finally, I drew the clothes with the help of a Sampled brush.
FINAL DRAWING
- I wasn't sure which background I should go with so I made three backgrounds with the drawing. Which one do you think it's best with it?
