Greetings dear friends, hope you all had a good day, well mine is ending better as I get to fulfill my day by putting a smile on a little one's face.
It was a day of joy for everyone on Monday as we celebrated Grandma's birthday, well, my input in making her outfit was appreciated as everyone kept admiring her outfit, in addition, I made a new client just through this act of love, then a not so good or maybe very good part was when other grandchildren became jealous of the outfit I made one of her granddaughters which matched one of her dresses as they were both made with the same fabric, but that was all I could make, so I thought, now I understand why everyone wanted a something made out of Abenad's grandma wrapper.
I felt helpless and had to recheck every leftover piece of grandma's fabric to see what I could make of them, well, Little Daniel got lucky, he is grandma's last grandchild, so I thought to make him a shirt since he is the smallest, just 2, and his size would make the fabric enough for him.
It's a collared shirt with a front zipper instead of buttons, and the result is gorgeous, who thought a shirt would look so good and sophisticated with brocade fabric? The making process is less time-consuming and very easy to make as well.
Materials used
- Brocade Fabric
- Zipper
- matching colored thread.
Cutting and sewing process
Step 1
The first thing I did was cut out the front and back shirt pattern, measuring out the back, armhole, around the body measurement, and length of the shirt
Step 2
Next, I joined the patterns by the shoulders
Step 3
I joined the front two patterns at the center, then sewed in the zipper
Step 4
Continuing, I cut out the collar pattern and then sewed it around the neckline.
Step 5
Finally, I cut out a short basic sleeve pattern which I sewed around both armholes, joined the sides, and hemmed the shirt.
The result, beautiful!
At least, I was able to put a smile on someone's face today,
