These photos were taken today at Hikifugawa Shinsui Park in Katsushika Ward.
As I walked by today, I saw magnolias, cherry blossoms, dandelions, tulips, and all kinds of flowers in bloom. I was particularly surprised by the magnolia tree. Large petals had already begun to fall under the tree, but the flowers were still in full bloom. It was like a fantasy movie world just there, and I gazed at it for a while.
Although I must have passed by this spot often, I did not know there was such a tree here. I have just learned that the life span of magnolia blossoms is short, and that they fall off within a week. So today may have been the first time I passed by here while the blossoms were still in bloom. I will never forget such a sight once I see it.
It was cold not long ago, but somehow it has suddenly turned into spring. I feel happy, but I also feel as if I want it to wait a little longer. Tomorrow is the end of the third semester for my elder son, and from the day after tomorrow he will be on spring break.
