As I made a new selfie yesterday, I began thinking of what could have been if I were a bit smarter in some of my recent decisions. Effectively, I began pondering in retrospective what could have been.

As the google definition says, retrospective is an adjective with a meaning that you look back on past events or dealing on past events and situation. And of course, a very similar concept is hindsight - especially when we are pondering on some past decisions.

Thinking in retrospective - a blessing or a curse?

And that is exactly what happened to me yesterday basically. I started delving into some of the decisions that I have done in my life - particularly in my finances - in the past 12 months or so. And while some decisions have been particularly good, others - in retrospective - have been quite bad.

One of the decisions - or should I say lack of decision - that has been stuck around with me was me being hesitant of HIVE in the beginning. I remember that when joining Ecency in the last days of March in 2021, HIVE was trading at a price around the 0.5 $ mark - similar to the price that it has today. But the real hesitation that occured during this time was due to the fact that I was unaware of the strong principles that this wonderful community had at the time - which was why I took HIVE for granted basically. I was posting some selfies and some pics of me, I joined two or three communities and that was that.

Oh how I was wrong.

I cannot pinpoint the exact time when I started taking HIVE and Ecency more seriously - perhaps even more seriously than my original website blog that I have had for quite some time now - but I do recall two influences that basically pushed me into the Ecency world: @vortac and @tarazkp .

They were really trying to get me to realize that I need to put words to the posting of selfies, they pushed me into realizing that basically even a girl like me, totally inexperienced in the crypto world can share her thoughts and opinions into a multitude of subjects (crypto included) in the Ecency world - and if good, some of those opinions would be rewarded by one of the greatest communities that I have ever encountered.

And the rest is history - I started writing and sharing my thoughts about multitude of subjects, some I trust were good, others not. But the learning curve that I feel that I have been achieving during these past 12 months or so in which I have been a part of Ecency is really something else.

I am currently sitting just shy of 2000 HP and have around 690 HIVE in my Ecency wallet. I also possess two Hive Punks - one of which was a gift from the wonderful @dalz . I am eagerly awaiting on the developments that the crypto markets will offer so that I can carefully think of my next step, which is from today's point of view really obvious - powering up.

I really think that the concept of HP is truly a remarkable one and it is precisely one of the main reasons why I fell in love with Ecency and HIVE.

Retrospect can be both a blessing or a curse, depends on what kind of decisions you made - but being here and reading my thoughts on Ecency means that you are a part of this wonderful community and project that is HIVE, so trust me that when you look back in retrospective to this particular moment in time - being on Ecency and investing in HIVE would be up there with the greatest blessed decisions you have ever made.

Have a great Thursday ahead lovely Ecencians! 💗

When many of us came here, we had no idea what Hive had to offer, so we had no way of knowing what we could do (or not). Some of us come here with more experience that others in how to use social media, and for those people it helped a lot. Then there are people who discover they had no idea why they came to Hive, but they found themselves here anyway and have no idea how to proceed.

Retrospective is important because it let's us see how far we have come along. Where we go wrong with retrospective is beating ourselves over the head for choices we made and for choices we did not make. Either way, those choices formed us into who we are right now. A decision which looked good then may have limited us in some way today. A mistake we made then would not have lead to the success we enjoy now. Once we complete our retrospective, we need to resume our path forward.

There are people who joined Hive after me who have passed me in many ways, and they found success here. I'm glad they found ways to succeed at Hive, even as I'm still finding my own path here. There's no room for jealousy here, only growth and development. All I can do is work to become a better Hiver and a better Leo. Part of that is supporting my fellow Hivers and Leos with engagement.

So I try to find ways I can become better at this "social media thing" with the added wrinkle that I want to do it using Web3 as much as possible. After all, people were finding success without FB or YT or Twitter in the 1990s and early 2000s, so I know it can be done that way today. However I find that success, I believe that Hive will be a major factor for me. If I can help people along the way even as I try to figure out things myself, I will.

HIVE is the way to go for sure!
