Visiting The Abandoned Beach Resort in Lamesahan Coast

Barangay Punta Silum hid some wonderful historical stories of the Place. Some of it are already abandoned for a long time and some of the areas are well developed again. For today's blog, I will take you to the So-Called, "Lamesahan" located in Zone 6 Barangay Punta Silum, Manticao Misamis Oriental. One of the question about this place is Why it Called that kind of Name? Before we proceed to my main topic, allow me to share the exact location of the coastal areas in Lamesahan.

This place is located at the last Zone of Barangay Punta Silum, coastal areas are full with big rocks and corals, and if started to travel from Barangay Poblacion Manticao, it only takes a few minutes before reaching the place. Lamesahan is near at houses but quite far from the National road. There are some place were abandoned Beach resorts was built.

We will go first to the place were an abandoned beach resort was built, there are some structures just like this concrete staircase and concrete benches were residents and fishermen take a rest, seat and went down to the coast. As many years has passing by, the structures continued covering with wild grass and bushes. Few coconut trees are also planted in here in fact the roots of it are already touch down the concrete structures. This lond staircase leads to the Main road of the place and it takes lots of steps before we can reach up at the top.

This area were lots of coconut trees planted was once a Dining Hall of the Resort built in here. But as many years has pass, the structures was already destroyed covering by wild grass. Now, only the coconut trees can be seen and found. The concrete wall were leads to the coastal areas are also continued to broke apart. The concrete walls are supported with big rocks piled up together before putting the concrete.

Why This Place So-called, Lamesahan?

It called by its name because of the big rocks located in here, the shape of the rocks is just like a table were it served as a diving areas to all beach goers. For a century, the rocks is continued to broke apart due to big and rough waves. Aside of that, this is also a fishing areas were lots of fish swim in here. According to the stories, this big rocks also a point were a pole was placed during Second World war but it was already vanished for a long time.

Not all of the place contains a rocky place, there are also some parts of the place contains tons of sands and peebles. Those beach goers will really like to visit here especially the children who loves playing sand castle. This line of big rocks are also called, Lamesahan and this place willbe submerged every high tide.

This wide areas of seas also the fishing spots to all fishermen. Every afternoon, there are lots of small boats floating here and also lots of fishing nets cast in to the sea water. This areas is facing at the panguil bay and Ozamiz city, aside of the fishing areas this is also good for swimming spots because of sands and deep sea water.

Big rocks are falled down from the cliff near at Lamesahan and it ended in here. Those big chunks of rocks here are sinking in the water everytime when there is a high tide. Lots of marine animals lives in here just like sea shells, crabs and other amphibian animals.

Visiting Lamesahan areas is very fun and enjoyable because of great and wonderful views. Thank you for visiting and reading my post, have a nice day everyone.
