THREE TUNES TUESDAY FROM THE CAVE- HIGHLIFE

in #hive-1538502 years ago

Warmest Regards to all music fans. The best day of the week to share my favorite songs is Tuesday, which is today. I have been listening to some African music in various subgenres. Although afrobeats appears to be the dominant musical style on the continent, there are other subgenres such amapiano, fuji, and highlife music.

After hearing their hit song "Anita," I randomly came across the band "The Cavemen" on Twitter. The sound was expertly organized, and only "Highlife" music was played.

A fascinating subgenre of African music is called "highlife," notably in Nigeria. It combines the drums, keyboard, and strings the most, with the addition of trumpets for higher quality. But the popularity of afrobeats has eclipsed this musical genre, and everyone seems to have forgotten how important it is to all of us.

The Cavemen are my featured musicians for three songs on Tuesday. It is a highlife band made up of two brothers who spent the majority of their undergraduate years producing fantastic music and wishing that the world will once again embrace the genre. The band's other members are divided among the other instruments, with Kingsley playing the bass and Benjamin, the younger brother, playing drums.

My top three favorite songs from "The Cavemen" are listed below.

ME YOU AND I/ SELENSE

This song has a strong highlife tune at its core and is produced by the vibration of drums, strings, and trumpets. Selense is a mood for telling someone who is deeply in love with you how wonderful love feels. The song's chorus, "Wild..Wild...You make me go wild," describes how being in love makes everyone feel physically.

AZANA/UGO

This is a peaceful sound coming from the cave; it speaks about how people would talk about you or your actions from the beginning. Benjamin displays his drumming prowess to usher in the next song, Ugo, which is a response to inquiries about our lives made by others. The local musical instruments welcome the highlife intro while the amazing trumpet plays in the background. Simply amazing is how these sounds are produced.

ANITA

Anita is the Cavy Band's national anthem. It is a remarkable song that tells the story of a woman named Anita. It is the ideal song to explain contemporary highlife music and how afrobeats can be incorporated into it. The synchronization of all the musical instruments is incredible, and each component is accurately depicted. It is the album's song that I prefer the most.

I'm not so into music, but I love to hear Cavemen sing😊. The combination of instruments is just Wow! One of my favourites is Selense.

I'm more into books, I can literally get lost in the pages of a book, especially if it's a very good read😌

Selense is one of my favourite...So what are you into?

Thanks for the education, always love learning this sort of stuff and delighted to hear some home grown talent from you this week.

Cool, I like the sound of these guys a lot, looking forward to having a listen now.

ME YOU AND I/ SELENSE -- Fan-bloody-tastic, really enjoying the sounds and the vibes of this one.

AZANA/UGO -- that instrument that looks like a pot sounds great and I love the backing singers in this one and the sax that kicks in near 2 minutes, quality, always a great addition to a song for me. The lead singer's hair is cool as well with the shells in it! I'd say these guys would be amazing live. There is something almost a bit jazzy about the composition of the song too, takes off in all sorts of directions.

Anita - "The synchronization of all the musical instruments is incredible" - yep fully agree, great vibes in this one and a nice fusion of sounds..
