While at my shop today I received a call from a lady who wanted to book a session with us I was supper excited because according to her someone referred her to me.
This look took one house 30 minutes to create

She just put to birth and according to her she wants to take the baby to church for the first time and so she needed to look presentable and beautiful.
So we were going to apply makeup and do a head wrap for her (gele).
After all the explanations of what she needed and where she needed it(home service) I have her my price and she was like:
CLIENT: HAAAA madam 10000 is too much oh, it's just a simple makeup oh it's nothing serious and a simple gele.
ME: MA'AM I know how things are presently and I understand it's not easy that's why I charged you that way, I really want you to look beautiful on that day and I promise to give You my best.
CLIENT: IS IT NOT JUST ORDINARY MAKE-UP, JUST POWDER AND LIPSTICK? WHY WOULD IT BE THIS EXPERIENCE I CAN'T PAY SUCH AMOUNT OH.
At this point I know she wouldn't even value or appreciate any effort I put in to enhance her beauty.
Me: Okey what's your budget let's see if we can walk with it.
CLIENT: 2000 is what I can pay.
ME:🙄🙄
That was really a poor one I would rather offer my service free of charge that accept a price that isn't worth it.
Being an entrepreneur isn't an easy task at all it's even more difficult when you are offering services. People look down on you, price your service so down and even talk down on it. They even go as far as making you feel like You don't know what you are doing.
At the end of the day I told her that it's not just makeup, it's an art that involves my time, my energy, my creative mind, and it's my business. If it's was just ordinary makeup You would have do it yourself.
There are people out there who still appreciates this Art just know your worth and don't reduce yourself to nothing.
