A look at Merriam Webster dictionary puts Superstition as:
a belief or practice resulting from ignorance, fear of the unknown, trust in magic or chance, or a false conception of causation.
I don't know what I will classify my encounter some days ago based on the definitions above. It happened when I went to the hospital last week for my treatment and my baby's immunization.
As we were waiting for our turn at the immunization section for my baby along with other mothers at the overcrowded room, my baby was looking up the ceiling, making baby sounds of communication and will laugh hard sometimes, I couldn't help but giggled too at his playfulness. 🥰🥰🥰
The other mothers around me were busy chatting in the language I couldn't understand very well (I relocated due to marriage), so it was just me and my baby, and occasionally speaking with some around me in pidgin language (lower level English).
The next thing I heard from one of the women who occasionally to talk me there was "You know, they don't come alone" in reference to my baby's playfulness described above. She was saying it to mean that my baby has some spiritual attachment with other Babies in the spirit realm just like every other baby in the room.
I couldn't help but smiled and subtly told her that my baby came alone and was just playing like a baby. Just last night, my baby woke up before 3a.m. and started laughing and chatting, and my mind recalled that statement subconsciously, of which I am certain that's what is normal with most babies as they grow in phases.
What do you think about the woman's remarks? What other Superstitions have you heard about babies?
