Introduction

Another weekly challenge released (Splinterlands, 2022), this time about a card from the Chaos Legion Set and the Water Splinter, the Angelic Mandarin.

• Triage: Recovers one-third of the health, rounded down, of the ally with the most health lost from its maximum, from second to last positions.
• Silence: Decreases enemy team's magic attack by one.

Angelic Mandarin is a low MP consumption card with two interesting abilities, Triage and Silence. In the first levels it doesn't have any of these abilities, being just a card with a good ratio of HP per MP spent, but from the Silver League we can count on Triage, making some compositions benefit from its presence. The following battle shows an example of how to use it taking advantage of this.

The strategy before the battle

The battle had Target Practice and Explosive Weaponry rules, had 36 MP available, and only Fire Splinter was disabled.

As all monsters with magic or ranged attacks would have the Snipe and Blast abilities, I sought to strengthen the defense of the second, third and fourth positions. In the second position I put the Tide Biter with Reach and Reflection Shield, to hold the damage of the Blast that reached the first and third positions. In third position I put Baakjira with Void, Slow, Strengthen and Heal to hold the damage that would come from the Snipe. In third position I put Lobstradamus with Shield and Magic Reflect to return part of the magic damage received by Blast. To also return part of the ranged damage I selected the Summoner Lir Deepswimmer which provides the Return Fire ability to all allies. To amplify the damage returned I put River Nymph in fifth position with Amplify and Cleanse and to keep the third and fourth positions alive longer I put Angelic Mandarin in last position with Triage. As a tank I selected the Serpent of Eld with Void.

Once assembled the team was to hope that my opponent didn't abuse the Sneak or Opportunity skills.

The battle

My opponent came with Summoner Kelya Frendul, with Djinn Oshannus as a tank with Void, Phase and Forcefield, Flying Squid in second position with Reach and Blind, Deeplurker in third position with Opportunity and Poison, Axemaster in fourth position with Double Strike and Close Range, Torrent Fiend in fifth position and Kulu Swimhunter in last position.

My opponent sought to protect himself from the Blast by placing monsters with high speed in first and last positions. However, he didn't protect himself from the Snipe, leaving the Axemaster and Kulu Swimhunter exposed to my team's attacks.

In the first round Axemaster committed suicide by attacking my Baakjira twice due to Return Fire damage. Deeplurker missed the attack against River Nymph and Torrent Fiend was eliminated with Blast damage.

In the second round, Kulu Swimhunter committed suicide by hitting Baakjira. The Flying Squid missed the attack against the Serpent of Eld.

In the third round Djinn Oshannus was eliminated with Serpent Eld's attack. The Flying Squid eliminated the Serpent of Eld, but was eliminated with the Tide Biter's attack.

In the fourth round Tide Biter dealt the final blow to Deeplurker.

The strategy of defending the positions that would receive the attack of the Snipe skill was successful, guaranteeing the elimination of 02 enemies with the attacks themselves. Angelic Mandarin helped keep the monsters in these positions alive, fulfilling his role in the match.

Introdução

Mais um desafio semanal lançado (Splinterlands, 2022), desta vez sobre uma carta do Set Chaos Legion e do Splinter da Água, o Angelic Mandarin.

• Triage: Recupera um terço da vida arredondado para baixo do aliado que tiver com mais vida perdida em relação ao seu máximo, das segunda a última posições.
• Silence: Diminui um no ataque mágico da equipe inimiga.

O Angelic Mandarin é uma carta com baixo consumo de MP e com duas habilidades interessantes, o Triage e o Silence. Nos primeiros níveis ele não possui nenhuma destas habilidades, sendo apenas uma carta com uma boa relação de HP por MP gasto, mas a partir da Liga Prata podemos contar com o Triage, fazendo algumas composições se beneficiarem da sua presença. A batalha a seguir mostra um exemplo de como usá-la se aproveitando disto.

A estratégia antes da batalha

A batalha contava com as regras Target Practice e Explosive Weaponry, tinha 36 de MP disponíveis e apenas o Splinter de Fogo estava desabilitado.

Como todos os monstros com ataque mágico ou à distância teriam as habilidades Snipe e Blast, busquei reforçar a defesa das segunda, terceira e quarta posições. Na segunda posição coloquei o Tide Biter com Reach e Reflection Shield, para segurar o dano do Blast que atingissem a primeira e terceira posições. Na terceira posição coloquei o Baakjira com Void, Slow, Strengthen e Heal para segurar o dano que viria do Snipe. Na terceira posição coloquei o Lobstradamus com Shield e Magic Reflect para devolver parte do dano mágico recebido pelo Blast. Para também devolver parte do dano à distância selecionei o Summoner Lir Deepswimmer que fornece a habilidade Return Fire para todos os aliados. Para amplificar o dano devolvido coloquei a River Nymph na quinta posição com Amplify e Cleanse e para manter as terceira e quarta posições vivas por mais tempo coloquei o Angelic Mandarin na última posição com Triage. Como tanque selecionei a Serpent of Eld com Void.

Uma vez montada a equipe era torcer que meu oponente não abusasse das habilidades Sneak ou Opportunity.

A batalha

Meu oponente veio com a Summoner Kelya Frendul, com o Djinn Oshannus como tanque com Void, Phase e Forcefield, a Flying Squid na segunda posição com Reach e Blind, o Deeplurker na terceira posição com Opportunity e Poison, o Axemaster na quarta posição com Double Strike e Close Range, o Torrent Fiend na quinta posição e o Kulu Swimhunter na última posição.

Meu oponente buscou se proteger do Blast colocando monstros com alta velocidade nas primeira e última posições. Porém ele não se protegeu do Snipe, deixando o Axemaster e o Kulu Swimhunter expostos aos ataques de minha equipe.

No primeiro round o Axemaster se suicidou ao atacar duas vezes meu Baakjira devido ao dano do Return Fire. O Deeplurker errou o ataque contra a River Nymph. O Torrent Fiend foi eliminado com o dano do Blast.

No segundo round o Kulu Swimhunter se suicidou ao acertar o ataque no Baakjira. A Flying Squid errou o ataque contra a Serpent of Eld.

No terceiro round o Djinn Oshannus foi eliminado com o ataque da Serpent Eld. A Flying Squid eliminou a Serpent of Eld, mas foi eliminada com o ataque do Tide Biter.

No quarto round o Tide Biter deu o golpe final no Deeplurker.

A estratégia de defender as posições que receberiam o ataque da habilidade Snipe foi bem sucedida, garantindo a eliminação de 02 inimigos com os próprios ataques. O Angelic Mandarin ajudou a manter os monstros destas posições vivos, cumprindo o seu papel na partida.
