Ten Years Ago at Walt Disney World

Here are a few fun pictures from 10 years ago. My husband and I with our four children went to Walt Disney World.

Yes, my husband, ever the comic, acting like he can't control the horse on a carrousel.

This is the visit that one of my daughters insisted that since she was turning 18 she would ride Expedition Everest 18 times. She did! Not everyone in the family did it, though. They had a fun time making all sorts of poses for the on-ride camera. Here's one of them (since this is a ride I can't ride due to a health issue, only my husband and children are in it):

They did all sorts of poses: I'm asleep because this is a boring ride, I'm scared to death, I'm comforting my dad who's scared, etc.

And this one here, while you can't see who it is very well, was when my youngest, 11, maxed out the score on Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin:

This was the last time we took our children to Walt Disney World. We knew it would most likely be the last as the children were now getting settled into their own lives. A few months later, my husband and I did a "first time without kids" trip there!

All pictures were taken by me, except where source is listed.

In the end, the children will live their own lives, and we will only have happy memories.

I'm happy how your child can achieve her dream to ride Expedition Everest 18 times.

I hope all of you are well there.

It's true. We train our children up to be able to live their own lives. Many parents don't want to let go, but my husband and I are now enjoying being empty nesters!

The child who lives closest to us is 2 hours away - far away enough that she won't drive by to drop by unannounced, since we may not be home. The other three are about 5 hours away. I think it is freeing! Yes, they are still our children and we are there for them when it is needed, but we are enjoying our "alone time."

Amusement parks are always fun to go and specially when it is with the family, wow ten years back, I can see the bright faces of your children how happy they were to be there.
I am also scared of those dangerous rides, paying and getting stress out NO WAY but yeah I am OK with those slow ones. I have taken all of the rides at Egypt and that was some kind of bet with a friend which I won :)
Thanks for sharing your trip and have a nice weekend.Cheers!!!

I used to ride all the rides, my husband still does, but due to a vertigo issue, there are some I now just have to avoid.

ooohh sorry to hear that, I thought you are also scared of those dangerous rides like me :P
Keep sharing the fun and stories of your life!!!

I don't have any issues unless I do something I shouldn't - like ride a spinning ride or one that turns too much, or throws me around. However, I am getting older, so the appeal isn't there like it used to be.

well well well I am sure you have had a lot of fun time specially at those amusement parks taking rides. Now, when your kids are all grown up, you are not getting old, it's time to be young as I know you will be enjoying your life with your husband :)
HAVE FUN!!!
