Porto, a pretty decent city to visit, nice to stroll around. the old town, photogenic, with the red tiled roofs and crumbling walls. Since 1996, it is on the list of UNESCO World heritage Sites. (kerching, free money)
I have never seen a Harry Potter film, nor read any of the books, I do not see the appeal and mass hysteria it has generated.
But apparently J.K. Rowling who back in the 1990's lived here for a couple of years got a lot of inspiration for her Harry Potter books from the city
Is it true? or more a case of band wagon jumping on
Constructed at the end of the 19th C the Sao Bento train station is said to be one of the most beautiful train stations in the world.
The station was built on the site of the 16th C Monastery of São Bento de Avé-Maria.
In 1834 following the Portuguese Civil War, male religious orders were dissolved and female orders were forbidden to admit new novices, this is why the monastery came to an end
The last nun died in 1892 and four years later the station was up and running, but it is said that our long departed nun has ever since haunted the station, silently preying in the darkest hours of the night. Am I the only person that questions why "ghosts" only appear at night.
The station does boast though some of the city's finest blue and white tiles, which appear during the daylight hours as well as night time.
I really enjoyed the harmonious duo, she was actually a very good singer too.....
Fucking disappointed when the dancing girls arrived though.
They say that all good things come to those that wait.
Marshall Hain, a British "one hit wonder" duo, from 1978, has to be one of my favourite all time tracks, it is so simple, yet so ethereal, the opening notes just drag me in without a fight, no resistance. Kit Hain an angelic voice and at the time, one of the most beautiful faces ever.
"Don't care what people say
Just follow your own way"

Another track that grabs me by the balls and won't let go, it just hits from all directions the chanting of the Amis people of Taiwan, the mind bending background music and the spoken singing or as Billboard put it
"The track's insistent beat is good bait for a song that is chock-full of unusual male chants and breathy female vamping. Somewhere between the two is an irresistible hook and melody"
Brilliant video to back it up, it tells the tale of a man's life from death to birth. How fucking creative is that.
Porto is not in Arizona, but whenever in the world I am and I see a super sunset, this track always runs through my mind and brings a tear to my eye.
Gorgeous sentiment, words, music and singer.
