Fellow Scholars and Scribes! I bid you welcome to the third annual SCRIBE SPOTLIGHT! π mosh pit ensues π
Each year we take a month to celebrate and commemorate our most diligent and talented authors. πΊ
All quotes in this showcase are from the spotlighted creator's works.
This spotlight is dedicated to one of the hardest-working authors in the bizz. And by bizz I mean |Hive. And by Hive I mean Scholar and Scribe. A lover of tabletop gaming and all things fantasy. The king of serialized fiction, you've stumbled across his works on here for sure. It is with great pleasure that I announce our next spotlight... π₯π₯π₯
π zakludick π
@zakludick, besides having one of the most lude names on Hive, has one of the biggest serialized collections. A Scribe that has been with us since our inception. And as constant as an afternoon shadow. His steady pace is something to be admired. Let alone his qualities as a wielder of the pen.
As a Scholar he is known to prop up his fellow Scribes. Not sure how he has the time to do anything. But frankly, I'm glad he can. Hive wouldn't be the same without the many novels that he's released on this platform. Let's take a look at some of his work.
Zak does few short stories, the man doesn't deal with short things. So we will explore the concepts and styles in his writing instead of narrowing in on specific concepts. Part One of the Maledictus Terra Book 2: Sanguifex sees the reader smack in the middle of a DnD campaign.
Zak's writing is like a narrator's. I liken it to that of a GM, taking us through a wistful adventure filled with unpredictable characters and fantastical worlds. I would characterize his style as traditional - steady as a rock in a storm. And warm. You feel like you are being taken care of when Zaky is telling you a story. Yeah, Zaky, we have nicknames for each other. Deal with it.
Mary sat in the Royal Chapel. The room had a familliar feel of quiet and contentment, but it was strange. There were many things that had been removed: Iconography and symbols that devoted the Dragonshold believers to pray to the Burning One, an eldritch horror that did batter against its nemesis, the Dark One.
Can't mention Zak without mentioning @lex-zaiya, the partner in crime. The two co-author most of their works. How exactly you co-author something is honestly beyond me. But hey, kudos! I always say if it doesn't hurt the creative process, don't question it. Here is another excerpt from Zaky's writing further along in the same novel.
Magister Illian straightened the cuffs of his bejeweled greatcoat. He did not feel neat and tidy as the station Magister of Chezon demanded. More than that, he was fastidious. He was not a noble-born and had risen to his position because of his skill at trade and negotiation.
@zakludick has made a blanket of fantasy and covered his entire being with it. A soul after my own heart. A staple in the community, and a pillar for those interested in serialized writing on Hive. Here's to an endless campaign filled with joy, pain, betrayal, and heroism. π₯
