Work Life Balance - when I heard those words in a official function by one of our Director, I was so excited. The flexibility in work time is necessity of today's time. People got bored by same routine and the change in routine refresh minds and also helps in going things in better manner with new energy in body. That is what I feel. The opinion may be different from person to person and yes it's human nature. Some of us are very strict to their daily routine and some do not worthier much about same. I know some of my relatives in old age are very punctual and never miss their routine, like woke up early in the morning then go for a morning walk, after walking they need the tea and after taking bath they are ready for the prayers. In the similar way in the evening also meeting the friends and walking and go to bed early is there every day routine. They are happy with that and that is their way of life. For me getting up early is always a task unless I do not have a traveling plan.

My day starts between 6.30 am to 7.00 am and after taking my morning tea the first priority is to woke up my kid. I normally reached the office on time but some days are exceptional. The work culture of our company is ok. Some time we have a lots of work and that required some over staying at office also, but normal we left the office on time (normal between 5.30 pm to 6.00 pm). I never worked in a company which has flexible hour working culture but with introduction of new policies we have some relaxation in office timing. Every morning was like race against the time, we getup and start our race to reach office on time, watching the time that we should not be late for office, but with new flexible timing policy we have the 30 min window in the morning to make out attendance. That means we can be late by 30 min and that does not effect anything like our punctuality but yes we are to compensate those late minutes in same day or may other day before ending the function year. In the same way we have relaxation of 30 min in the evening also so people may left the office 30 min before the normal office timing. I appreciate the efforts of management that enable the 30 min relaxation window as before that the employee were mostly in rush to be on time and some time this leads to some mis-happening like accidents on road as people in rush drive their vehicle faster then their normal speed. Those 30 minutes are really a mental peace for most of the employees.

During the Covid19 pandemic the most of the companies shifted to the online or work form home. This allows the employees to work for any location remotely. In once sense it looks convenient and flexible also but in realty it is opposite of it. In Indian condition this facility created un-convivence conditions. The employer exploits the employees and make them work more then usual timings. They treat them like they are now available for 24x7 for official work. The employee do no able to spare time for then selves.
No doubt the flexible timing are good for the employees as well as for the employer. For employees they can work free minded and for employers this is one way to increase the efficiency. I love to see if the timing policies of my office further give more freedom to employee so that they can give the bigger time window (the minimum hour for the day may be completed in certain start and end timing of the office). In my opinion this will be the Work Life balance in true manners. Their are always some employees who may be always look for the loop hole and try to exploits the facility provided to them but for such few numbers we can not abended the all others.
