Halloween is on Splinterlands🕸
That's right, get the candy ready because Kiara Lightbringer brings you a trade offer: You give her candy, she keeps her Vulguine from drinking all your blood. A fair deal if you ask me, so this Halloween night don't forget to have a big stash of candy for her, or that will be your last night.
This is Faces of Splinterlands, a different side of this game, where I want to give another perspective to the characters of these cards. Today taking advantage of the fact that Halloween is just a few days away, I wanted to take the opportunity to finally draw Kiara Lightbringer, this sweet girl who is the youngest Summoner of Splinterlands, so I never knew in what situation to paint her, but inspired by the art of my friend @chopiliart, I painted her as cute as possible and then put at her side a terrifying Vulguine as her pet.

-Step 1:
If you know me, you know that I love to make illustrations with a forced point of view, and this one had to be no exception, although first I thought to do the scene with Kiara and Vulguine coming back happy and with their pumpkin full of candy while behind them there was a terrified person at the door of their house, it wasn't a bad idea, but I wanted to experiment a little more and work the perspective because I feel I still haven't mastered it properly.
-Step 2:
With the fusion modes "color", "soft light" and "overlay", I gave the first glimpses of color to the scene, here I took more attention on the Scorch Fiend since its illuminations due to the lava would be more striking. Oshuur's skin looks ugly and very dark as with these fusion modes it's a bit difficult to achieve his skin tone directly from the gray.
-Step 3:
Kiara's costume should of course be a rainbow, since it is the most striking feature of her armor, but it would also help to make her look as cute as possible and be a great contrast to her pet. I wanted the pumpkin to be alive, but I preferred to just keep it as the candy bowl but with a scary design.
-Step 4:
Then I started to work on Vulguine, working his fur in a harder way to denote his more aggressive nature and that he is ready to attack at the slightest order from Kiara, I worked on his fur using the Smudge tool so I could stretch the strokes and mix the colors to simulate a furry animal.
-Step 5:
This is supposed to be the entrance of a house, so I added a welcome mat with a Halloween design, although the word "Welc💀me" is not visible because it is too big. Also Vulguine's tail is supposed to be on fire, so I did my best to achieve that effect, besides it served me as an element to fill the scene, since there was nothing in the background, I also made this fox bigger to make it look more imposing and terrifying.
I will leave you a GIF with the whole process on it, so you can better appreciate the illustration process.
Tell me in the comments that you imagine when you see this illustration.
See you in a future post!
