Noto is a town in Southern Sicily which is the island off the south of mainland Italy, it's short drive from Siracusa and well worth the trip for at least half a day or so.
It is one of the Sicilian towns which was destroyed by an earthquake in 1693, and thus was rebuilt in the the next 20-30 years. This means that it was built in the Baroque style of architecture which was modern at the time.
This means that it has wider and grid streets, and isn't a chaotic as medieval towns, which is the 'old town' of many European cities, it's is a little more grand as well with plenty of flourishes.
Of course I'm no expert on this but I do know what I like, and I like this town a lot.
