Hello, Open Mic community week 219, it's your girl harvodey. This week we are to pick an Traditional song and I have chosen to do a cover of a solemn worship by Rema Onouha. Titled Ekele.
Every worship song has a way of communing with the soul, or should I say it's helps your soul commune with God. Ekele is Igbo language a native language in Nigeria which means Praise, and the song says that all I have to offer God is my song of praise. It's just a way of appreciating God and asking him to accept my praises.
I feel like I'm in a very calm mood today, even though I have a lot going on right now and I won't be able to express it all here, but music is always my way of speaking to the One that can hear and understand at every given time. I know music speaks differently to different people at different times, but to me, it usually makes me feel better depending on my mood and sometimes the atmosphere determines the right type of music.
Have you ever been in a situation where you feel like the music is just off, that's how you recognize a good DJ by the type of songs he plays at a given occasion.
Singing Ekele today has helped lighten up my spirit and I hope it has the same effect on every listener. Do enjoy even if you don't know the meaning of each word, just understand that it's a song of thanksgiving and appreciation to God for all he has done and will still do and I believe thanks giving can never be enough or even too much when it comes to God. As long as I'm living I've got a reason to praise.
I wish you all a lovely weekend ❤️. Thanks to checking by.
