There are less than 2 days left until the Splinterlands season ends and before the prices in the Glint store reset again, I decided to buy 100 Major Chests for 100,000 Glint to be able to increase my Soulbounds deck and also get some energy to increase the number of battles I have this season.
Normally choosing the rarity Draws can be more advantageous to increase your Soulbounds deck since you will be guaranteed to receive cards of the rarity you choose, but I prefer to take a chance on the Chests since in addition to winning cards I will also gain energy and the chance to get a jackpot. In the case of energy, it will be very useful because I will get more SPS by battling more often and I will also recover part of the Glint spent since I will also earn them in battles. In addition, I can also get several cards in a single chest, unlike what happens in the rarity Draws where I only get 1 card per chest.
Okay, after spending 100,000 Glint on 100 Major Chests, let's see if I got lucky and got some good cards and maybe a jackpot. The odds of each item in the Major Chests are:
Now let's open 100 to see if I'm lucky or not.
Once again, I wasn't lucky enough to get a jackpot but I did get good cards and 21 energy. If I take into account my win rate, I should be able to win 12 battles with this energy and that should give me 70 SPS. I'll also earn 25,000 Glint counting the earnings during and after the season, which means I'll get back about 25% of what I spent on the chests, so it was a great investment.
My strategy is to open 30 Ultimate Chests, 150 Major Chests and 25 Epic Draws per season. I chose the Epic Draws because of the 2 cards I'm most interested in in this Soulbound edition, which are Olivia of the Brook and Halfling Refugee. I avoid opening Minor Chests because they give me little energy and few cards, but if I have Glint left, then I think it's worth trying. This season I still have 50 Major Chests to open, but I don't have enough Glint, so I hope to get them before it resets.
The results of the tournament I participated in are out and, as I expected, I managed to get a position that would reward me with SPS. In fact, the ranking I achieved was a little higher than I expected, since yesterday I was in position 126 and when the tournament ended I moved up to position 121.
I managed to get 116,375 SPS in this position and that took me a little surprised because in the rewards table I should have received 133 SPS.
But I can't complain because I still made a good profit since my only expense was 400 DEC. Even with this reward, I still made a profit of 3+ Hive, so it was a great result for the few minutes it took me to complete all the battles. I talk more about this tournament in my post:
Now I'll wait for the next tournament to see if I continue to have good results. Tomorrow another one that I'm interested in will start, which is the Gloridax Wild Diamond Invitational.
This is a diamond league tournament, so the cards can be used up to the maximum level, and it's at this level that I rent my cards, so I'll also participate in it as soon as my SPS rental order is filled.
