Building A Shelve For A Client.

in #hive-1688692 years ago

Today I am building a shelve for my clients phone shop so, I went to the timber market to get two Wawa boards, one 1/4 plywood, screws, adhesive papers for furniture( white and pink) and nails.

He says he want it in pink so had a discussion with him on the color selection and we finally arrived at adding white to it so it can all stand out.

At the wood shop, I bought and paid for the Wawa boards, then I went to the mill to get the boards cut to measurement for me. The rest of the work will be done at home as I have a cross cutting sanding and other essential tools at home. Measuring tapes also plays critical roles in wood works so I take it along wherever I go as a carpenter. From there, we hired a carrier tricycle to take the materials home.

We( myself and my other carpenter friend) could not find all the materials at the same place so we had to walk to town to get the stickers. Finding the right stickers with the quality we want really helps so being there to choose is really important for the right pick.

Started working on the materials by going by our measurements and then sanding the board. After sanding, we dusted the surface and got on with the sticker work, heating and making sure everything sticks right.

The interesting thing with carpentry is the creative aspect of it so we get to brainstorm and possibly change a few things as we work on the projects to we can arrive at what we really wanted. That being said, we realized the white stickers wouldn't be enough so we decided to add use it for the back panel(1/4 plywood) for the majority of the upper parts and then use the pink for the base of the same board.

Over all, I will say the project really came out well. The partitioning also added to the aesthetic of the work. All in all it took us a day and half from Friday to Saturday to complete and deliver to the owner. He was excited it came on time and loved with we did with it. He was so excited, he kept taking pictures of it and posting it all over social media to advertise the craft for us.

Thank you for visiting and I will like you review on the project. I look forward to bringing you more of this from time to time.

Ciao

I like the shelving, at home my husband is also doing a small project in the kitchen with the same materials you used.

Oh that cool. Is he a carpenter? Would love to see the result

He is not a carpenter, he just helped when they were putting the kitchen together and well...he says he learned something hahaha.

Oh nice, there's always something to learn

Looks very great! Good job on this friend.

Thank you
