This happens to be my first post for #MarketFriday which was initiated by @dswigle.
It all began with a craving for jute leaves and okra soup so I stopped by the Amasaman Market, the one by Kasoa station. I will be preparing my jute soup accompanied by banku. Banku is made from corn flour but since I already have corn flour at home I will not be buying flour at the market. I have about 7 dollars which are approximately 75 Ghana cenis for the shopping and I intend to not go beyond that.
In the pan is palm oil(red oil) and vegetable oil but for the sake of what I am cooking today, I bought palm oil which is made from palm fruits and it is rich in essential nutrients.
From this side, I bought jute leaves and okra. I would have bought from an older woman who sold jute leaves but she said she did not have change for 1 dollar even though I was buying 40cent and she made no attempt to find change for me so I had to move on to this place. This woman seems to be very friendly.
In addition, I needed onions, pepper and spices so I bought them from here.
Moving to the next, I bought salmon from this lane. I can see cassava, banana and cocoyam leaves and other food items on display here.
In this picture are fresh mangoes, avocados, and plantain at the far end all on display.
This can sell garden eggs and pepper, decided to add that as a bonus picture. One interesting thing about this market is that you can get all the farm produce here. The market stretches about 1km along the road with other traders on the other side of the road.
Good I got what I needed so I left to go get the soup done.
Thank you for your attention.
