I am so thrilled to participate in this awesome activity, an activity initiated in the @HiveGhana community by @collinz which seeks to look at effective ways of marketing Hive with the hopes of getting more and more investment-driven people to join the platform.
Before I list my strategies, allow me some moment to talk about hive, what it is and its use cases.
Hive is a multipurpose platform which is decentralized and open-source built on the hive blockchain with integrated social networks, and decentralized applications (dApp). The network is scalable with low-cost transact transactions compared to order blockchains. Its native token known as HIVE is used to incentivize users and content creators through a process known as curating(upvote) which allows the content creator and the curator to earn passive income on their efforts.
Hive employs delegated proof-of-stake (DPoS) consensus algorithm allowing faster block times as compared to the native POW.
Use Cases of Hive
Decentralized Applications(dApps): hive is home to over 100 dApps and many more decentralized apps being built ranging from social to gaming, sport, video, defi, NFTs and many one. Some are Hive.Blog, Ecency, Peakd, LeoFinance, Splinterlands, Rabona and many others.
Censorship Free: Because of its decentralized nature, hive allows its users freedom to post what they want without any obstruction from others.
Crypto Exchange: Hive token can be traded for fiat on popular exchanges like Binance, Gate.io, and kucoin as well as traded on the platform.
Now that we have learned something about Hive and its use cases we can go on to the marketing strategies for Hive.
Ways To Market Hive
- Events and Partnership: Frequent engagement in web-3 and social events will give Hive the visibility it needs and that will gunner support and trust from people to want to learn all there is about Hive and join. Such actions will also open doors for partnership. In Ghana, the steps taken by @mccsam and @collinz from drilling boreholes in deprived communities, to printing customized t-shirts and souvenirs including the up-and-coming Tekna fintech are good forward to put hive on the map.
The Hive community can even seek to sponsor the mainstream leagues in both Europe and Africa which is also good for visibility and is a good marketing strategy.
- Utilizing Influencers: Hive can work with trusted influential individuals with strong ties in the web-3 industry who will be the means of educating and promotingHivee to their followers and by so doing people will come searching for Hive with a clear mind and purpose of what hive is and the need for growth.
- Community Engagement and retention program: There is a saying in Ghana which is loosely translated every good thing begins from home. So for hive to reach the corners we want it to reach, community sentiments contribute greatly. That is to say, how community members feel about Hive will kindle in them the interest to put in the effort to declare the Hive news to others and for that to work, we will need an active selfless engagement in all community member's posts, encouraging and refraining from biases. As we do so, it will retain daily usage and people will be more involved in hive business.
Overall, there are several other strategic ways to boost Hive marketing and I believe implementing what I have listed will help in Hive creating Hive awareness.
