After the disappointment I had after finishing Onyx Storm, because I wanted more and I felt that it would be difficult to overcome it, I had to look for another similar reading or at least fantasy and full of mysteries, so I entered Tik Tok to see recommendations and I found this saga called "Kindred's Curse" by Penn Cole that caught my attention.
The first book "Spark of the Everflame" is about a girl named Diem Bellator, who is a healer like her mother in Emarion, a place divided by 9 kingdoms, each kingdom has two powers and its population can have one or the other, the strongest can have both types of powers.
- Lumnos, realm of light and shadow.
- Fortos, kingdom of strength and courage.
- Faunos, kingdom of beasts and wild beasts.
- Arboros, kingdom of roots and thorns.
- Ignios, realm of sand and flame.
- Umbros, realm of mind and secrets.
- Meros, realm of sea and sky.
- Sophos, realm of thought and sparkle.
- Montios, realm of stone and ice.
But not everyone has these powers, as the realms are divided between Humans or Mortals and Descendants, those who are the fruit of the union of Humans and Gods who enjoy characteristics such as brightly colored eyes and hair, slender bodies and features that would be considered perfect, while mortals have brown eyes and dark hair.
Diem is a mortal, who all her life has lived isolated from the descendants by overprotection of her parents, and was really happy living in her ignorance. Until one day her life goes uphill, because her mother disappeared without a trace, after seeing her secretly talking to a descendant.
As the weeks went by, she made a visit to the Royal Palace, to fulfill her role as a healer and there she met Prince Luther, whom she recognized as the person who was talking to her mother that day of her disappearance.
Diem, in her eagerness to find answers, decides to look for any clue, no matter what it takes, even breaking rules imposed by her mother, such as the duty to stay away from her descendants.
MY OPINION
The truth is a story that in my opinion develops very well, the author put a lot of effort in the construction of the world and the type of magic.
And although at the beginning it is a bit obvious, since there are things that are easy to deduce and at times I found it a bit intrusive the way in which she "planted" doubts and suspicions about some characters instead of letting us reach a conclusion on our own, I found that the book was full of many mysteries and intrigues.
She took us by the hand, as the story started out a bit slow, and as the chapters went by it increased in speed and impact.
Diem, is a person with a strong character, fearless and impulsive, but at times I thought she acted very immature. However, I found her to be a good character.
Due to the series of events the main character was no longer sure who she is, as clearly her mother hid many things from her about her origin and now her mission is not only to find her mother but to discover who she is although the first step is to accept that she is different.
Overall, I thought it was a good book, I was glued to it and didn't want to put it down until I finished it.
I loved the whole mystery. It really is an excellent fantasy book. It left me wanting to read the next book immediately.
But before I start the next one, I wanted to leave you this review. Because I know myself, and if I don't review it right away, I'll never do it because then I get a backlog of reviews 😁

Luego del despecho que me quedó después de terminar Onyx Storm, porque quería más y sentía que sería difícil superarlo, tuve que buscar otra lectura similar o al menos de fantasía y llena de muchos misterios, así que entré a Tik Tok a ver recomendaciones y di con esta saga llamada "Fuego Eterno" de Penn Cole que llamó bastante mi atención.
El primero libro "El despertar del Fuego Eterno" va de una chica llamada Diem Bellator, que es sanadora al igual que su madre en Emarion, un lugar dividido por 9 reinos, cada reino cuenta con dos poderes y su población puede tener uno u otro, los más fuertes pueden tener ambos tipos de poderes.
- Lumnos, reino de luz y sombra.
- Fortos, reino de fuerza y valor
- Faunos, reino de bestias y fieras
- Arboros, reino de raíces y espinas.
- Ignios, reino de arena y llama
- Umbros, reino de mente y secretos
- Meros, reino de mar y cielo.
- Sophos, reino de pensamiento y centella.
- Montios, reino de piedra y hielo.
Pero no todos tienen estos poderes, pues los reinos se dividen entre Humanos o Mortales y Descendientes, aquellos que son fruto de la unión de Humanos y Dioses que gozan de características como ojos y cabellos de colores llamativos, de cuerpos esbeltos y rasgos que se considerarían perfectos, mientras que los mortales tienen los ojos marrones y cabellos oscuros.
Diem es una mortal, que toda su vida ha vivido aislada de los descendientes por sobreprotección de sus padres, y realmente era feliz viviendo en su ignorancia. Hasta que un día su vida se va cuesta arriba, pues su madre desapareció sin dejar rastro, luego de verla a escondidas hablando con un descendiente.
Con el pasar de las semanas, hizo una visita al Palacio Real, para cumplir con su rol de sanadora y allí conoce al Príncipe Luther, a quién reconoció como la persona que estaba hablando con su madre aquel día de su desaparición.
Diem, en su afán de encontrar respuestas, decide buscar cualquier pista, cueste lo que cueste, incluso rompiendo reglas impuestas por su madre como el deber de mantenerse alejada de los descendientes.
MI OPINION
La verdad es una historia que a mí parecer de desarrolla muy bien, la autora le puso empeño a la construcción del mundo y el tipo de magia.
Y aunque al principio es un poco obvia, ya que hay cosas que son fáciles de deducir y que en momentos me pareció un poco intrusivo la manera en la que ella nos "sembraba" las dudas y sospechas sobre algunos personajes en vez de dejarnos llegar a alguna conclusión solos, me pareció que el libro estuvo lleno de muchos misterios e intrigas.
Nos fue llevando de la mano, ya que la historia empezó algo lenta, y a medida que pasaban los capítulos iba aumentando la velocidad e impacto.
Diem, es una persona con un carácter fuerte, intrépida e impulsiva, pero en ocasiones me pareció que actuaba con mucha inmadurez. Sin embargo, me pareció un buen personaje.
Debido a la serie de acontecimientos la protagonista ya no estaba ya segura de quién es, ya que claramente su madre le ocultó muchas cosas de su origen y ahora su misión no es solo encontrar a su madre sino descubrir quién es ella aunque el primer paso es aceptar que es diferente.
En general, me pareció un buen libro, estuve pegada a él y no lo quise soltar hasta terminarlo.
Me encantó todo el misterio. De verdad que es un excelente libro de fantasía. Me dejó con ganas de leer el siguiente libro inmediatamente.
Pero antes de empezar el siguiente, quise dejarles esta reseña. Porque me conozco, y si no hago la reseña de inmediato, no lo haré nunca porque luego se me acumulan las reseñas pendientes 😁
