- Bitcoin: Bitcoin mining giants Bitfarms and Riot platforms have reached a settlement agreement. Coinbase plans to introduce the cbBTC token on the Solana blockchain. Bitcoin-backed lending gains traction among financial institutions. And something that should not be, yet it is, Chinese Bitcoin miners are still dominating, even with a national crypto ban. Another conspiracy theory, Coinbase is issuing paper Bitcoin for ETFs instead of the real deal. What? Bitcoin Korea premium index is dipping, as Korean traders are eyeing the altcoins for now. Bitcoin smart contract L2 network, Stacks, is preparing for a hard fork in October, promising better DEFI functionality, as it just broke through the $66 barrier.
- Ethereum: Guggenheim Treasury Services issued $20M in tokenized commercial paper on Ethereum. We have $8B options expiring on Friday. The market will become interesting soon. The live Ethereum price today is $2675.74 USD with a 24-hour trading volume of $10363472624.38 USD.
Altcoins and stablecoins: WalletConnect rebranded as ReoWN, started a fancy $185M airdrop on September 24. Polkadot made their own Twitter-like platform, Grill, where you are paid in crypto tips for publishing. Hamster Kombat was a disappointment, with a 'huge' $2.40 airdrop, for me. Moonshot lets you buy and sell various memecoins in just a few taps using Face ID and depositing your funds via Apple Pay. Ethena Labs to launch stablecoin backed by BlackRock's tokenized fund. Polymarket is looking for a $50M funding round and might launch a token soon. Celestia (TIA) is shooting up, hitting $6.42. TrueUSD is now under the SEC radar, with some fraud charges on the companies behind this stablecoin. Check the MOODENG token for some fun or profit.
NFTs and blockchain games: On Splinterlands, the seventh round of Conflicts airdrop finished, and the last Legendary summoner is coming. A new gaming phone is ready to be launched, the XForge, the DePIN Android phone, for just $299. Ton blockchain reached 100M active users, after the Hamster, Dogs and Cats airdrops, with tap-2-earn games pushing it even further. But can the network support them all?
- Good news: The UK government has introduced a bill in Parliament aiming to clarify the legal status of digital assets, NFTs and more. Digital assets will be subject to personal property rights. Kucoin has a brilliant referral program if you are good at this stuff. Kraken has finalized its acquisition of Coin Meester, one of the oldest registered crypto brokers in the Netherlands, and is expanding into Europe. PayPal is set to start allowing its business partners to buy, hold and sell crypto directly from their accounts in the US. Binance is on track to register one of its best September on record. They become the first centralized exchange to surpass $100 trillion volume. The HK digital dollar is expanding its CBDC pilot, and we are looking at the settlement of tokenized assets, programmability and offline payments. If you live in Turkey, no tax on stock or crypto profits. Now this is something that will help people to reach financial independence. Will this last? RobinHood and Revolut are considering minting their own digital dollars (stablecoins baby!).
