Top Pages By Traffic With Optimization Tips! - LeoFinance Report For Growth - Part 1

in #hive-1679223 years ago

toppagesbytraffic.png

I published "Top Pages By Traffic - MASSIVE LeoFinance.io Report" two weeks ago and my first idea was to continue to publish something similar twice per month or something like that, but due to something @khaleelkazi said in one of my recent posts I have changed my mind. I might still create reports like that though, because I think it's important for people to see and understand what content generates traffic and how valuable optimized content is, but this post won't be like the previous one.

1on1coaching.png

This is what Khal had to say, and as I have been pretty vocal about optimization, organic traffic and I have tried to help and educate people through various "How To"-guides and reports for quite some time, I immediately started to think about my next move. The next thing I could do, to help others improve which ultimately would lead to overall growth and value for everyone.

I decided to quickstart the "1 on 1 coaching/help" Khal was talking about, but doing so in a different way than what he had in mind. I figured I could provide some advice for the Top Pages By Traffic, so they can strengthen or improve their current rankings. This would obviously only work if the authors are willing to make some changes in older content, but instead of trying to reach authors one after another, I came up with the idea of looking through certain aspects of the content that is generating traffic and sharing tips in a post of my own on.

  • Hopefully authors will be notified by me tagging them.

As the previous Top Pages By Traffic Report included ~100 articles or so in total, I also figured that authors who are interested in tips for their own article, if they find them within that list (or any other updated version moving forward), could just simply request tips and feedback by telling me within the comment sections.

If I get a handful of requests, I could make a post with suggestions for those articles, or otherwise I could just go through the entire list from top to bottom and break this up in parts until I hit the top 50 articles or whatever.

  • What do you think about something like that?

For this test-run so to speak, I've decided to look at the details for the 3 top pages by traffic, and I will try to cover as much as possible to improve- and maximize the ranking potential for each post. Note that I have excluded content from forexbrokr as he is producing optimized content with great results.

Let's Take A Look At The Top 3 Pages By Traffic

  • SEO Title & URL:
The title shows up in a Google search for any given URL.

  • Estimated Monthly Visits:
The estimated traffic this web page gets from Google for this particular term.

  • Backlinks:
How many incoming hyperlinks from other websites to this domain.

Dogeland - Scam or not?54041

The page that generates the most organic traffic to LeoFinance was published more than one year ago. It currently sits on top of google for the main keyword which is an amazing achievement which doesn't come easy.

The keyword: "Dogeland" has a search volume of 1000 per month and the estimated visits are 534. Whenever you are creating "Dogeland"-related content, you should include a link to this article to help this content maintain it's current position.

This obviously makes it difficult for me to provide feedback or suggestions on how to improve the rankings for the main keyword, but I'll do the same with this one as any other content in the future, so each step is still necessary to share details from.

Secondary keywords/different keyword variations:

  • "dogeland io scam" - has a search volume of 30, the post shows up at 4th position and estimated visitors are 2 per month.

  • "dogeland.io scam" - has a search volume of 30, the post shows up at 4th position and estimated visitors are 1 per month.

  • "dogeland mining" - has a search volume of 20, the post shows up at 3rd position and estimated visitors are 1 per month.

  • "dogeland scam" - has a search volume of 50, the post shows up at 4th position and estimated visitors are 1 per month.

  • "is dogeland io legit" - has a search volume of 20, the post shows up at 4th position and estimated visitors are 1 per month.

Honestly speaking, at its current rankings it's of little interest to try and rank this content for other keywords as the search volume is extremely low in comparison to the main keyword.

That being said, I personally believe that this content will be generating this much traffic for a limited time. I can't say for how long it will generate this much traffic, but knowing that dogeland.io doesn't even exist, there will be little interest to search for information about it in the future.

So, we might increase Ad Revenue on LeoFinance due to the traffic it brings in right now, but it is bound to stop generating traffic in the near future. Also due to the actual content on that page, there is little use for anyone to keep going back to that page for information.

Invictus DAO on Solana62811

The keyword: "invictus dao" has a search volume of 1900 per month and the estimated visits are 62. Whenever you are creating "invictus dao"-related content, you should include a link to this article to help this content maintain it's current position.

Secondary keywords/different keyword variations:

  • "invictus dao crypto" - has a search volume of 30, the post shows up at 17th position and estimated visitors are 1 per month.

  • "sol invictus dao" - has a search volume of 260, the post shows up at 15th position and estimated visitors are 1 per month.

  • "invictus dao price" - has a search volume of 260, the post shows up at 21th position and estimated visitors are 0 per month.

While this post already generates ~60 visitors per month, there are some minor things one could do to boost the organic traffic further.

There have been several tests that indicates a connection between word count and Google's rankings. Each of those analyses found that content between 1000 and 2000 words seemed to rank higher.

My suggestion for that reason is to increase the length of the post by 500+ words.

Another suggestion is to use Grammarly for anything you are trying to optimize. Grammarly is a cloud-based typing assistant that reviews spelling, grammar, punctuation, clarity, engagement, and delivery mistakes.

I personally recommend optimized content to have a Grammarly Score of a minimum of 70 in general, but there are many others that claim 60 or higher to be good enough.

After Using Grammarly:

grammarly2.png

With the use of Grammarly I got an overall score of 82, which might- or might not improve rankings directly, but it's a very easy thing to use, so I recommend all content creators to use it.

If- or when updating this content to strengthen- or improve the rankings, I would also make sure to include some of the keyword variations/secondary keywords within the text to take advantage of the search volume for those keywords.

How To Use the MATIC Network With MetaMask4743

The keyword: "how to add matic network to metamask" has a search volume of 390 per month and the estimated visits are 5. Whenever you are creating related content, you should include a link to this article to help this content maintain it's current position.

Secondary keywords/different keyword variations:

  • "can i send matic to metamask" - has a search volume of 30, the post shows up at 3rd position and estimated visitors are 8 per month.

  • "send matic to metamask" - has a search volume of 140, the post shows up at 7th position and estimated visitors are 4 per month.

  • "how to send matic to metamask
    "
    - has a search volume of 210, the post shows up at 8th position and estimated visitors are 3 per month.

That being said, there are several things one could do to boost the organic traffic further. This post generates 47 visitors per month, but we have multiple keywords we could squeeze traffic from. They are too many to cover, but take a look at this screenshot:

keywordvariations.png

How To Use the MATIC Network With MetaMask generates traffic from all of these 10 different keywords already, without really focusing on any of them.

What I would do is to include some of these keywords/keyword variations and add more text in the post, just like the suggestion for the post above. I would aim to add roughly 500-1000 words in total and focus on keyword variations with as much search volume as possible, while still having a SEO difficulty of less than 60 for this one.

I would also recommend using Grammarly if- or when updating this post to improve the Grammarly Score:

There You Have It!

While most of these things requires some minor changes, I know how difficult, tiresome and painful it can be to write long articles, include in-depth details with screenshots, bullet points and whatever. I’m well aware. That’s why you can use this as a step-by-step guide to maximize the results from your older content with minimal effort, just by simply following the recommendations.

This will benefit LeoFinance and Hive in the long haul, because optimized content is bound to generate organic traffic. Organic traffic leads to growth. Do this for your own sake, and ours.

I don't need SEO, I have my 3 old reliable followers. Me, my bot and my Mom. They always vote for me and never argue.

That's awesome. When we've been ranking content and the price of LEO/Hive hits new ATHs, treat your mom a nice present. :)

I will :) in fact I might treat all Hivers moms.

great , thank you

My English is not perfect as I’m still learning.
But Grammarly sounds perfect for me to assist.
Thanks for the recommendation @hitmeasap 😎

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Grammarly is an awesome free tool that is perfect for everyone. I'm not native in English either and many professional bloggers are using Grammarly regularly for all their content.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I didn’t know about it, now I do. Thanks @hitmeasap.
It is great to have, that extra help especially as not being native in English.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

It's a really good tool. I recommend everyone to use it. Especially anyone looking to improve their articles.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

On it… 😉

Se ven muy buenas las estadísticas, a mayor trafico mayor popularidad. buena información.

I can't speak spanish, but using Google translate you're saying:

"The statistics look very good, the greater the traffic, the greater the popularity. good information."

I appreciate it and I agree with you. Thanks

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

This is definitely a work well-done and a lot to learn from. Keep up the good work moving.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Thank you very much, I appreciate it. I actually spent roughly 4 hours on this. I was inititally going to share details for the top 5 pages, but eventually had to go with 3 instead because I was never fully satisfied with the outcome.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Wow, I think these reports in the way you analyzed it will further enable other authors to be encouraged. I also kind of like the idea of @khaleelkazi too, such that it'd enable us to improve on even the old posts rather than just going forward to the next item all the time. Because old posts, as we may call them, are also integral to the positive effects to be brought about by the recent ones.
Well done and more power to your elbow @hitmeasap

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Thank you, I appreciate it. Yeah, I've been going back- and forth with Khal a bit recently regarding optimized content and talking about ways to reward it long after the payout period.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

You are really trying and doing quite a tasking job.

...talking about ways to reward it long after the payout period.

I dont get this, pls. Is it that one upvote a content thst has passed its payout period?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Is the Grammarly score for paid members? I did download that extension to at least fix some of my grammatical errors. It's quite nice to just go through the suggestions before I post.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Nope, free version also offers this. However, I don't use the extension, even though I have it installed. I always close that and use the website instead. Not sure why, but it feels more convenient for me.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Nice, didn't know there was a score checker for grammarly, thank you for sharing. Have been using it for 4-5 years now xD.

Im still confused though what kind of content is allowed on LeoFinance, so I won't.

Here are a few of the most common categories of content that we see on LeoFinance:

Crypto
Bitcoin
Hive
DeFi
Stock Market
Technical Analysis
Economics
Tokenomics
Fundamental Analysis
Research Reports on Stocks/Cryptocurrencies
Videos About Crypto
Videos About Equities
Crypto Podcasts
Financial Tutorials
… more!

That being said, a post filled with awesome photos from your last vacation wouldn't be right for LeoFinance, but, you could, at least in theory, include details of the price for the planetickets, talk about inflation, how much those 11 beers cost you last night and that you could buy a burger for 2 bucks or whatever. Doing that would make the post more "finance" related.

I wouldn't recommend doing something like that though, as we have better places for that type of content, but it wouldn't be wrong by definition in case you did something like that.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Well, seeing SEO-related content in LeoFinance is great to see. To me, marketing, strategy, or other business-related content could and should also be accepted on LeoFinance (but that's just my opinion), without the dollar symbol placed somewhere in the article (I'm curious about your take on that).

However, I can only assume people do the 'safe' type of content and write about crypto, which could funnel out to a smaller output in the type of content. Seeing you posting this is refreshing and encouraging as it brings more understanding on what to and what not to post.

Well, the SEO-related content is not "finance or crypto"-related so it doesn't "belong" on LeoFinance, but the focus of the SEO-related content is purely focused on Hive & LeoFinance and to drive more traffic, which in turn leads to growth, more Ad Revenue and increased value of the tokens. At least in theory. That's basically the reasons for this type of content to be okay.

Think of it like this, (at least that's what I'm doing), you can share content that is valuable for others in terms of $ in some way.

Marketing for instance, can definitely be worth $ for people in various ways. The same goes for other business-related things. So even though the focus might not be purely about "save $X by doing this!" or "I made $X from this", it's actually rather easy to create content that leads to $ for someone, to some extent, at some point.

Tips on what we can do to bring traffic for instance, doesn't have to be focused on $ in the content itself, because it leads to $ over time, in theory.

People are doing the "safe" type of content like you said, but they are talking about Hive & LeoFinance in general, because that is what everyone loves and it's easier to earn rewars by doing that.

LeoFinance has started to expand and think differently in terms of what to curate rather recently, which is very refreshing.

Whenever someone is making posts about Hive/LeoFinance, talking about how awesome it is, how much they've made or whatever, that content will be curated more than other types of content. At least 9 out of 10 times, which is very unfortunate, as we need outward-facing content to bring traffic. LeoFinance has started to put a lot more focus on this though, so we're definitely moving in the right direction.

@khaleelkazi and I went back- and forth in one of his posts for instance, talking about rewarding outward-facing content differently, having contests or in other ways encourage people to produce optimized content that brings traffic. It will be very interesting to see where we land with this. :)

It's pretty wild those scam / legit posts often do well. There's a few others that are common trends people search for that I need to put a little time into pulling and writing a post about. Huge potential for traffic and growth in the ever increasing and expansive crypto world.

One of the most powerful things I've found helpful for articles is when you're trying to do something yourself and you run into having to google how to do it. How to metamask or another popular wallet have huge potential for a long time. Keep up the great work!

Huge potential for traffic and growth in the ever increasing and expansive crypto world.

It sure is, but I am still struggling to decide what I should write about.. I have a handful of ideas but I have zero interest in creating a post about any of them at this point. I need to come up with something different. :)

"How-To"-stuff in general is often really good for organic traffic. One of my personal methods when creating content and searching for keywords is to look at keywords starting with "How To, Best, Where, and What".

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I was curious so I went and searched "Is Dogeland a Scam?" and clicked on it. I wanted to see what they page looked like if you came from an outside source.

My fears were confirmed. There's nothing else on the page but that article and the leofinance header. Nothing to draw me deeper into leofinance or hive. No visible links or images to other stories I might be interested in or other popular content.

I can't think of a single popular website that doesn't try to lure me deeper when I click on one of their stories.

Nothing to draw me deeper into leofinance or hive. No visible links or images to other stories I might be interested in or other popular content.

Exactly and this is the case for most content. I've suggested some sort of "other posts by the author" to be visible somewhere when reading content to reduce bounce rate and to keep visitors on site for a longer period of time. My hope is that visitors would then find more interesting content that eventually convince them to join.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Maybe even some "how does hive/leo work" quick links to some simple posts or FAQ section where they can then expand to a more detailed one.

Yeah, that would be great. "Other posts by the author", "related posts by others" and/or even what you suggested, "How does Hive/LEO work" would be awesome to showcase.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

This seems like a major flaw to the model and a big reason why hive, as a content machine for popular topics, isn't more of a mainstream force. If we're relying on one article reads and nothing to incentive people to come in further.

Have your suggestions fallen on deaf ears or is there some action happening behind the scenes?

Have your suggestions fallen on deaf ears or is there some action happening behind the scenes?

I am not sure. We have a bunch of awesome people on Hive, so someone is probably working on something, somewhere. :D

I think it would be a great addition though.
